CONTENT REFERENCE

I will like to give a shout out to Connie Guzman for allowing me to use her cool elevator pic to experiment with more A.I. tools.

Recently Leonardo AI added a feature called Content Reference and what this allows you to do is upload an image as reference to re-imagine the scene. I love this feature because it can give provide good ideas for scenes you can imagine.

The first images is what I used as reference and the other 2 images are what it re-imagined.

What I love about this is you can even images a child's drawing and have it come to life. I did use other tools to spruce them up a bit, but the initial output still comes out pretty good.

👔👗👚 ANNIE'S COSTUME CORNER (Wicked Wonderland) 👘🥻🎩

Annie was very excited when she learned she didn't have to convert to an animated character to work on the costumes for this last movie.

I let her know I would do some faux rotoscoping and she could design the clothes that she usually would but challenged her to create some outfits for some characters from fantasy, fairy tales, myths and legends and she told me I had to shop for all the materials. Tried to argue that I was doing a film, but only managed 2 sentences before I got the solid stare and slight smile.

Anyway, I here are the outfits and the elaborate character descriptions. I think I went a little overboard on these which is why I believe this would be better suited for a series instead of a movie.

🎬 Behind the Curtain: Wicked Wonderland 🧙‍♀️

INTRO
Welcome to the backstage of Silly Darn Productions! In this segment, I'm pulling back the curtain to reveal the creative process behind our imaginative projects. Today, we're diving into the magical world of "Wicked Wonderland."

GOAL
With "Wicked Wonderland," my main objective was to achieve visual consistency. The previous project, "The Dreamweaver's Tapestry," while vibrant and artistic, suffered from fluctuating art styles. Characters would shift between anime, realistic, and 3D renderings, creating a visually jarring experience. This time, I aimed for a cohesive visual narrative.

WHAT I TRIED
Drawing inspiration from the film "A Scanner Darkly," I adopted a rotoscoping-inspired technique. First, I created realistic character models, then applied an artistic style using AI prompts. For instance, I started with a realistic image of Paula, then layered on an artistic style in Midjourney. This approach yielded far more consistent results, maintaining a unified aesthetic throughout the project and the attached images show the example of this.

CHALLENGES
Two major hurdles emerged during production. First, creating scenes with multiple characters proved tricky. The AI struggled with group compositions about 80% of the time, often filling empty spaces unpredictably. This led to time-consuming blending of separate shots to create multi-character scenes. Second, I ambitiously incorporated a diverse cast of fairy tale, mythological, and legendary characters, each with rich backstories. Balancing these complex narratives within the project's scope was a constant challenge.

HOW I THINK I DID
Overall, I believe I achieved my goal of visual consistency. However, this process revealed that "Wicked Wonderland" might be better suited as a series rather than a film. The intricate character backstories and world-building elements I've developed deserve more space to unfold. Tomorrow's segment will show the elaborate character descriptions along with the images, offering a glimpse into the depth of this fantastical universe.
