🎉Congratulations to our 🌴 RGV Personality of the Month for October, 2021, Javier Villalobos, Mayor of the City of McAllen. Javier Villalobos McAllen Mayor

Javier Villalobos is an attorney of 27 years and owner of the Law Office of Javier Villalobos, P.C., and serves as the Mayor for the City of McAllen. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and a volunteer for various non-profit groups.

Villalobos received a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Southwest Texas State University, now Texas State University, and a Juris Doctor degree from the Thurgood Marshall School
of Law at Texas Southern University.

Before being elected as Mayor of McAllen, he served as the McAllen City Commissioner for 3 years
He represents several governmental entities and is the attorney for STC, Donna, Ed couch Elsa, La Joya Housing Authority and Hidalgo County.

After winning his mayoral election in 2021, he has worked tirelessly to represent McAllen and the RGV at the highest level.

🎉Congratulations to our 🌴 RGV Personality of the Month for August 2021, Lyanna Lynette,🌟

Lyanna was born and raised in Harlingen Tx. She is a former Torrid model and won a nation wide competition out of 14,000 contestants. She had five meet and greets in different states and has shared the runway and photoshoot platforms with several well known plus size models along the way. Lyanna has been featured in People Magazine, Elle Magazine and Runway Riot, along with doing several tv appearances and interviews.

Lyanna is currently a licensed cosmetologist and has been a makeup artist for 16 years. She no longer travels to LA for photo shoots but loves the direction her artistry is taking her!

Lyanna loves to help other women realize the importance of self love and acceptance of their bodies and to appreciate them no matter the size shape or color. “Growing up there wasn’t women my size on the runway or in magazines, so I was ready to help break barriers for plus size women and get my voice out there and be heard”, she says.

Lyanna has two children and is engaged to be married. She currently lives in the RGV and is an Ambassador for the Bert Ogden Arena.

Congratulations to our 🌴 RGV Personality of the Month for July 2021, Sarah Hammond🌟

Sarah Hammond is the President of Atlas Electric and Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Plumbing
Services, Inc., a company located in Alton. Atlas Electric & Air Conditioning is over 38 year old family business that has been in operation since January 1983.

Sarah maintains an active role in the community on behalf of Atlas and serves on several boards: She
has previously served as Chair of SCI Women’s Business Center, previous Chair of Organization of
Women Executives, Current: President of Femfeshionals RGV, and is a Collective Director 1 of 7 in the US for FemCity. She also serves as a board member for Women in HVACR, which is one of her strongest missions. Her passion is to help women grow business and speaks on this issue across several world and national platforms. She has served on Texas Boards, and currently is a board member for the Greater Houston Better Business Bureau and South Texas Board. She also serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Rio Grande Valley Partnership, IB Grant Chair, RGV Hispanic Chamber Small Business
Development Chair along with several other committee organizations.

In 2016 she was the recipient of the Women In Technology for South Texas College and in 2018 chosen as the Mission Chambers Executive of the Year. In December she was awarded the 2015 Global Champion for Women Economic Development Award in Dubai. She was inducted into the SAMEAWS 2015 Global Women
Leaders Hall of Fame. She was awarded by South Texas College Women in Technology Advocate and in 2014 she was awarded the Small Business Person of the year award for the Rio Grande Valley and in 2015 RGV Hispanic Women of Distinction – Rising Star Award.

Sarah has lived here in the valley most of her life and married her husband from Alabama whom settled here and has coached arena football and currently is still coaching. Congratulations, Sarah!
