Whitesburg Day of the Mountain Heritage Festival will be this Wednesday September 25! There are some changes. Please read below and come on out for a great day in Whitesburg!
**UPDATE**
Mountain Heritage’s Whitesburg Day is a go for this year, but with a few location changes only!
Whitesburg Day setup will begin past Brent’s Barbershop, down Main Street, towards the village area and we have also included East Main( City Hall street) this year to accommodate vendors.
Please DO NOT setup in front of the Letcher County Courthouse, out of respect for the tragic events that took place last week.

Wednesday September 25, 2024.
Put it on your calendar and tell all your friends that good food and shopping is just around the corner.
If you have a home business, sell arts and crafts, or have a church group/school group and you would like to be a vendor at this event, contact me (Lee Adams) ASAP.
The committee would love to have you!
You may text me at 606-634-5698. My email is [email protected] and you may reach me that way as well.
Some things to remember…..
It's FREE to set up but you must CONFIRM with Lee Adams.
There will be NO EARLY set-ups and NO SAVING SPOTS.
Main Street WILL NOT be closed.
There are no electrical outlets.
You are allowed to bring a tent as long as it is free standing.
(You have to keep a clear path on the sidewalk also.)
Please bring your own displays, tables, and chairs.
All proceeds from sales will go directly to the individual vendors.
Vendors are responsible for collecting and paying all sales tax where applicable.
All merchandise and personal property must be removed from the premises immediately after closing.
All trash must be picked up and put in the designated trash cans.
This is not a garage sale, so please keep this in mind.
We welcome baked items, fresh foods, arts and crafts, books etc…
No Early Set ups and you must get permission from business owners before you set up in front of their property.
Whitesburg Day activities usually start at 8am and over by 2pm.
Rain or Shine!
Hope to see YOU THERE!!
09/22/2024
Looks like a wet start to Mountain Heritage Festival week but it goes on rain or shine!
After morning valley fog burns off, a warm front will lift across the area today. This will allow multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms to develop in the coming days, although increasing cloud coverage may limit instability. If that happens, storms will remain weaker, and their greatest impacts would be some much-needed rain fall across Eastern Kentucky!

This message from the Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church in Whitesburg.
Letcher County friends and family, our little community has suffered much heartbreak this week and many have prayed for peace and comfort. Please join our church, Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church, for a special prayer circle tomorrow at 12:15 (after our church service) around the courthouse and sheriff’s office. ALL are welcome and encouraged to come. We hope everyone will show up and encircle these buildings with our persons as we lift up in prayer the folks who must return to them.
Share this open invitation with all your friends, family, churches, neighbors, and anyone else you choose. ♥️🙏

They will take on the Central Warriors out of Wise County VA at Cougar Field.
Kickoff for LCC and Wise Central is at 7:30pm this evening with the Appalachian Wireless Cougar Countdown Pregame show here on the Bulldog beginning at 7:00pm with Michael Watts and Greg “Bull” Creech.
Message from LCC about parking:
Letcher County Central will be running a shuttle service from the top of the hill back down to the field once the regular parking lot fills up tonight,
And after the game, anyone that parked on the hill needs to use the shuttle service. The school doesn’t want people walking up the hill to their vehicle in the dark.
