Since 1990, Mr. Scheetz has been shaping young minds and inspiring students with his passion for sports and storytelling.

From the first take to the final cut, his dedication has turned countless students into confident creators, always encouraging them to find their own voice and share their unique stories. His classroom was more than just a set; it was a sanctuary where dreams were written, scenes were lived, and futures were framed.

As the curtain falls on this era, let's celebrate his Oscar-worthy career and the timeless impact he's made. His next adventure awaits and we know he will continue to light up the world with his talent and spirit.

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce's Teacher of the Year program annually identifies exceptional teachers statewide celebrating their effective work in and outside the classroom. The program is designed to honor, promote and celebrate excellence in teaching and the teaching profession.

2024 Student Emmy Award Nominations Announced!

We are excited to announce that WHS-TV has been nominated for Best High School Magazine Program (Accent) AND Best High School Fiction - Short Form (The Duplicate, Written and Directed by Tommy Collins) for 2024! Congratulations to our entire WHS-TV team for all of your passion and dedication to our craft! Winners will be announced on or before July 1, 2024.

The Student Production Awards (SPAs, Student Emmy Awards) is a part of the The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and recognizes excellence within the area of high school television production. The best video segments are nominated. Only one will ultimately earn the top spot in each category.

To date, WHS-TV has earned a total of 38 nominations, 8 Student Production Awards and 70 individual awards in the categories of Best Magazine Program, Best Television Commercial, Best Public Service Announcement, Best Live Sports Event, Best Arts and Entertainment/Cultural Affairs Segment and more.
