Hermione will always have my heart!

In honor of her 42nd birthday this week, we're celebrating one of the most beloved Mighty Girl literary and film characters of all time: Hermione Granger! Since the release of the first Harry Potter novel 24 years ago, Hermione has remained one of the most popular literary role models for many Mighty Girls. In an interview, actress Emma Watson reflected on the impact of her famous character: “Hermione was that perfect example of turning on its head this initial prejudice that she gets. Hermione finds a way to wield her intelligence and become really the leader in this group of two other boys. That's kind of the role that she assumes. Harry is much more intuitive. Ron is just along for the ride. Hermione is the one with a plan. She's in control. I think somehow that gave other women permission to feel that they were allowed to take up space."

Don’t forget to start saving images/files of your kids‘ most impressive writing or art pieces (grades k-12). If submitted by July 1, they will be published (NO SUBMISSION FEE!) in this year’s Crackerjack Youth Literary & Art Magazine. The purpose of this is for our kids to see their creativity and hard work in writing and in visual arts be recognized and rewarded, just as we recognize and reward sporting and performing arts! Confidence sparks from multiple sources!
