Today at 11:00 AM, First and Eighth Graders from Holy Childhood School visited the Mascoutah Senior Center and sang for those visiting for lunch. Here is a clip of one song they sang for the seniors.

Today, Scott Air Force Base loaded over 84,000 pounds of rice onto a C-17. This rice will be transported from Scott Air Force Base to Joint Base Charleston, then to Port au Prince, Haiti. The food was donated by "Feed my Starving Children" in Schamburg, IL and will go towards feeding nearly 4000 children in Haiti. Over 200 quilted items were on display at St John UCC, 55 W Church, at the 39th annual Quilt Show on Saturday. The Bed Turning featured in this video showed a wide variety of creative quilts made from strips, jellyrolls, layer cakes, and charms. Serving as MC for the bed turning was Kay Ostrom.
GOOD FRIDAY COMMUNITY WAY OF THE CROSS- The Ministerial Association of Mascoutah sponsored the annual Good Friday Way of the Cross at noon today. It began at St John UCC and ended at Main & Lebanon at the park near Regions Bank.
On Wednesday, March 14, approximately 200 Mascoutah High School students participated in the National School Walkout at 10 a.m. The 17-minute peaceful protest was held in the high school gym. The protest was in support of stronger gun laws and in remembrance of the 17 people killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida last month. Mascoutah School Superintendent Dr. Craig Fiegel said the district worked with members of the student body to come up with a way for the students to express their feelings while staying in a protected environment.

The Mascoutah Indians were joined by the Mascoutah Police, Fire Department, EMS, Illinois State Police, and the St Clair County Sheriffs Department during the performance of the National Anthem before tonights game. They wanted to display their respect to all first tesponders.
