Kentucky State Police Investigate Fatal Collision in Fulton County
FULTON, Ky. (January 22, 2025) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 is investigating an early morning collision that claimed the life of a Tennessee man.

At 6:19am CT, KSP Post 1 was requested by the Fulton County Sheriff's Office to investigate a vehicle verses pedestrian collision that occurred in the 4000 block of E State Line Road. Preliminary investigation indicates that Jordan B. Owens, 44 years old of Greenfield, TN had been operating a Mack garbage truck. The truck broke down on E State Line Road, stalled over the center line of the roadway. Owens was out of the vehicle. A 2014 Chevrolet Impala, operated by Jose Gomez Carrillo, 25 years old of Mayfield, KY with passenger Oseas Hernandez Gomez, 19 years old of Mayfield, KY was traveling westbound on E State Line Road. For reasons still under investigation, the Impala operated by Carrillo struck Owens.

Owens was transported to an out of state hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation remains ongoing by Detective Nate Moore.

Public Service Announcement:

The City of Gleason and the Police Department are shutting down Snider Park to vehicle traffic. This will be in affect from dusk tonight and continue through Saturday. The reason for this is to allow a safe place for the public to have fun in a safe environment with the incoming weather. Barricades will be placed at the entrance off of Trevathan Street/West Orchard and up by the Community Center. Vehicles will be allowed to park at the Community Center. The Community Center will also be open as a warming center Friday and Saturday from 8am-5pm. All children and families are welcome to come to have a fun time and be safe while doing so.
