🏃🏃🏽‍♂️🏃‍♀️The Dresden Elite Cross Country club team competed in the Middle School XC Nationals in Louisville, KY, on Saturday. The middle school girls team placed 5th in the club division. The middle school boys team placed 8th in the club division. Congratulations to all of our runners! We are so proud of all of you!🏅

WATER MAIN BREAK LEADS TO EARLY DISMISSAL AT MARTIN MIDDLE SCHOOL AND WESTVIEW HIGH SCHOOL
Martin, TN – A water main break in the city of Martin has caused water service disruptions, leading to an early dismissal today for both Martin Middle School and Westview High School.
John Lifsey, Principal of Martin Middle School, shared that the school experienced a loss of water pressure this morning, and while there were hopes the issue would be resolved before lunch, it continues. Similarly, Principal Brian Allen of Westview High School, shared that the school lost water this morning, and they briefly regained water service before losing it again.
Both schools will dismiss students early today. Students will be provided with a cold lunch and bottled water.
The district’s transportation department has arranged for an early bus route, which will begin at Martin Middle School and then proceed to Westview High School. After completing the early routes, buses will return to their regular schedules.
The district asks that parents of Martin Middle and Westview High School students monitor their phones and local media outlets for an announcement regarding whether these schools will be able to hold classes Friday.

BREAKING: Westview’s Graham Simpson named Class 3A Mr. Football semifinalist

On Thursday morning, the TSSAA released the five semifinalists for the Tennessee Titans Mr. Football awards, and Westview freshman Graham Simpson is one of the five semifinalists for the Class 3A award.
Simpson is joined by Alcoa’s Eli Graf, Sheffield’s Radarious Jackson, Alcoa’s Eli Owens and Covington’s Skylan Smith as semifinalists.
Simpson helped Westview to its first 10-0 regular season since 1970 and the Region 7-3A title, along with the No. 2 ranking in the TSWA Class 3A poll behind Alcoa.
During the regular season, Simpson has completed 145-of-188 passes for 2,763 yards, 43 touchdowns and zero interceptions. He has also ran for 53 yards and a touchdown. Simpson has also only played in the second half of three games.
In Friday’s Region 7-3A championship against undefeated Covington, Simpson broke the state record for passing yards in a game with 624 and set the school record for passing TDS with 8, while completing 32-of-46 passes.
The Tennessee Titans Mr. Football award is a regular season award that was voted on by a selection committee of sportswriters from across the state.
The list of candidates will be narrowed down to three finalists on Nov. 26 on the Tennessee Titans radio show. Those three finalists will be invited to Nissan Stadium on Dec. 10 for a luncheon, and the winner of the award will be announced then.
