Are you getting messages like this on your business page? 🤔
Unfortunately a lot of businesses I work with are getting these messages!
These messages are from scammers and not from Meta or Facebook. They are impersonating Meta saying you have went against guidelines, will shut your account down if you don't respond, and are asking you to fill out a form by clicking a link.
Some give aways that these are scammers and not legitimate, are
🚫 The names they are messaging with
🚫 Often there are severe grammatical errors
🚫 The links or URLS have suspicious characters such as @, -, .
Facebook has a list of legit email addresses they will contact you with, that allows you to see if it's a legit message.
What to do if you've messaged or clicked their links?
❗️Immediately change your password!
❗️Check to see if they have started running ads through your business account, using your credit card.
❗️Take your credit card information off of Facebook.
❗️Monitor your credit card account to check for fraudulent charges.
If you click the links and your account is compromised, it can be difficult to fix your account and take control back. You will also have to dispute charges and change credit card numbers to protect your account, money, and credit!
