We partner with Ellen Bacca and the WOOD TV/Storm Team 8 updates for school closings. Click there to see all the closings from Marshall-Albion to the west. All Marshall area schools closed around 5 on Thursday for Friday, so save your ice cubes. The main punch of snow comes after 8 tomorrow night, but it will be plenty messy with a Winter Storm Warning from Friday Noon to Saturday at 7 pm. A few miles to the east, snow, but not as much, and everybody's going to get 50 mph winds. Drive carefully, if you must drive late Friday and Saturday. We'll keep you up to date here. It will be happening in the morning during The John and Heidi Morning Show, so, tune in, turn on, and don't get burnt out on Christmas Music like other stations do. Remember WKFR, Keener 14 in 1971? We do, and, in fact, have audio to prove it! We played the 52 year old "War of the Worlds" broadcast at 7PM. If you missed it, we're playing it again at 10PM. Will we play non-stop Christmas Music after that? Absolutely not. Christmas music, three times an hour, plays starting the day after Thanksgiving. So you can have a choice of Christmas Music on some other station, or Your Together Oldies here at Keener 16. You're welcome. And, Happy Halloween, from Keener 16!

What was that sudden off the air sound JUST before Bart Shore's Weekly Zecom Hour? An unwanted, unscheduled, and forced Windows update, that's what. Now that the forced update is done, and we're back on the air with you, just know that the Zecom Hour is rescheduled to Sunday Night at 11. We will not deny you this fun hour, we'll just have to delay it. Other than that, we're keeping it Keener!

A decade ago, Keener 16 was one month from moving from Fennville (south of Holland) to Marshall. Forward to today, it's not a move keeping us silent, rather a fan and heatsink to keep a computer part cool stopping working after almost 16 years of continuous service. And hope was lost for finding a part to replace it, having been manufactured in 2010. Thanks to a couple fans of the station, a brand new part (meant for gaming computers) was found and we'll be back on the air (and online) tomorrow night - just when we're not sure. Thank you all for your patience. Don't worry, Jim, Bart Shore's Sunday Request Show will be on, as well as Bart's Zecom Radio Hour - Friday Night at 11pm! And Mary Ellen, yes, Dennis Mitchell's Breakfast With the Beatles will be on Sunday Morning at 8! Keep it Keener!

It is with great sorrow for the announcement that the eMachines computer, purchased new in 2016 and put into service as the driving computer for Keener 16, has finally had a fan give out and shuts down due to overheating. I'm not putting too much faith into finding a replacement part, so over the next few days Keener 16 is going silent until things can be replaced or transferred. There will be updates, just not a whole lot, as there is only one technician (me).

Lucky us, lucky you. We can at least post about it, since this goes from phone to cell tower. Not so with the station. The Fibernet crew is fixing something just down the street. So, until they're done, we're instantly off the air, online. If you're within a half mile of the transmitter, we're still on. We'll let online listeners know when the repair crew packs up.
