Do you remember…
The Haven, The Sanctuary, The Loft. Salvation, The world-renowned Paradise Garage. And so many other sacred rooms from the very inception of our Dance Music Culture.
If you were there, if you truly lived inside the atmosphere and chemistry of even one of these legendary dance temples, you carry something words alone can never fully explain. A complete takeover of the senses. A nostalgic, emotional imprint that still lives deep within your soul.
Yes, books were written about those early days, pages that logically explain how the culture was born and how it gave rise to what we now call Legends of Vinyl. You can read them, understand them, and even appreciate them. But you will never truly feel that euphoria. Not the way it was. Not the way it hit. That intense, spiritual, emotional high cannot be learned, it must be experienced.
To truly capture it, you must hear it. You must feel it.
You must stand in the presence of Legends of Vinyl, the original club DJs of that era. Very few still spin vinyl the way it was meant to be played. Among them is one of the original pioneers, DJ Luis Mario O. Rizzo, also known as LMOR-DJ, continuing the art exactly as it was performed in the early days of disco and dance.
This music is nothing like what you hear today.
It is underground, Creative, Melodic, Sensual, Driving. Filled with attitude, funk, and raw high energy. All of it colliding into an emotional journey that, in plain terms, is downright nasty.
This is not evolving technology, this is pure artistry.
The true craft of spinning vinyl: hands on wax, instinct over buttons, risk over routine. You must be there, to hear it, to see it, to witness the show created by the originators themselves, and to absorb the emotional wisdom that only time and experience can produce.
Legends of Vinyl, the originators, The innovators, The turntable risk-takers.
The ones who ignited the party. The ones who started the disco and dance movement.
The ones whose fire has spread across the globe and into every form of dance, in every medium, today.
Every dance floor has roots. And those roots lead back here.
Legends of Vinyl continues to rekindle an era of passion and emotion, and you are invited to become part of that bygone time with us, from sundown to daybreak. Recharge your spirit and join the journey through our Visual Radio experience, “The Visionary Haven,” at www.legendsofvinyl.com/visualradio and on Roku: L.O.V.-TV Channel.
Even the most seasoned club historians and die-hard aficionados will find themselves taken on a trip, entertained, moved, and mesmerized, simply by listening and watching.
Disco balls? Forget that rubbish. We’re talking the first lighting ever used for dancing, psychedelic light, straight out of the 1960s.
So, if you’re thinking Saturday Night Fever, go back. Way back. Back in time. To when the only people who existed were Troglodytes, as Jimmy Castor would say.
As you listen and dance to Legends of Vinyl Luis Mario’s show, you’ll hear how pre-disco dance music gave birth to the sounds that shape today’s world. Much of it began on 7-inch, 45-RPM vinyl, raw, unfiltered, and revolutionary. This is where it all started.
Join Luis Mario every Saturday and Sunday from 3 PM to 5 PM for a truly different experience, an original, genre-blending style that seamlessly combines vinyl and digital mixing, spanning the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, and today’s soulful and Nu-Disco sounds.
Luis Mario is currently working on his memoir, stand by for a powerful unforgetable story you won’t want to miss.
See You on the Dance Floor!
