MAN SHOOTS AT VEHICLE IN NEW BLAINE

This afternoon, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a man driving by a residence on Springlake Road in New Blaine in eastern Logan County and shooting at a woman’s truck. The suspect, who lives in the Dardanelle area, left the scene. The victim drove down to the New Blaine Trading Post and met us there. She stated that an acquaintance of hers was angry about a theft report she made about him in Pope County and decided to take revenge by shooting at her while she was visiting a residence in Logan County. Her vehicle was hit but no one was harmed.

Our criminal investigators and an Arkansas State Police special agent interviewed the witnesses and processed the scene. Several shell casings were found in the road. We searched the area and notified the Yell County Sheriff’s Office, Dardanelle Police Department, and the authorities in Pope County and so far, the suspect has not been found. We believe this is an isolated incident and we will release suspect details later.

*This incident is not related to the murder suspect seen in the Morrilton area that was the subject of the release by the Arkansas State Police.

At 3:30pm, deputy in south Sebastian County clocked a red sports bike speeding through the Midland community at 120 mph in a 35 mph zone. It was driven by a white male rider, wearing a black enclosed helmet. The deputy lost site of the motorcycle as it continued to increase its speed northbound on Hwy. 45 out of Midland. May have turned onto Tyro but not sure.

To the rider. There are many young children that live and play in this small community. As a rider traveling at those speeds, you simply wouldn’t have time to react if a child stepped into your path, or if a car pulled out in front of you.

If anyone has an idea who this might have been, please send us a message on our FB page. We’d like to pay them a visit.
