Thanks to ALL who pitched in for Doc Stumbo today in his absence at the 21st annual Make-A-Difference Food Drive to benefit Catholic Charities Hope Food Pantry and Wayfinders Homeless Shelter. We captured a double rainbow just as the rains hit. Monetary donations and non-perishables, toiletries, cleaning items, baby items, (pillows/twin sheets for Wayfinders) are still being accepted at both locations. Thank you for giving!

I got the opportunity to emcee several events today in support of the Walk To End ALZ - Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter in downtown Mansfield, and, at the Crestline Harvest Festival parade. A good day to hang out in the late, summer sunshine!

Hey it's Tony here! This morning on the "Tony & Chelley" morning show, I made my annual "Acorn Report" prediction for winter.

This tradition started when I was noticing the number of acorns littering the sidewalks, starting in late August through early September during my daily walks. For the past 4 years or so, I've predicted with 100% accuracy the kind of winter we will have based on what I witness on the sidewalks and under the oak trees.

In a nutshell (lol), my prediction is based on this: Mother nature knows what's coming. Squirrels load up for a harsh winter. But they don't work as hard if it will be a mild winter. Therefore, the more acorns littering the ground, the harsher the winter. But for the past two years, I was stepping on very few acorns...and everyone saw we had two very mild winters. 3 years ago, I was stepping on acorns everywhere and the result was a very snowy winter.

So what about the winter of 2024-25?

The acorns say expect a more "normal" winter in north central Ohio, with MORE snow than we've received over the past two years. Not overwhelming, but more plentiful than we've gotten used to seeing.

Hey, don't kill the messenger. I call 'em as I see 'em. With my reputation on the line, I say start planning for a more typical winter in Mansfield.
