The Displays each year just seem to get more creative and are quite educational. A Big Thank You to all who entered display competition at the Ohio Civil War Show this year. The Award Winners this year; Karl Withrow for Best Educational with his display "Preserving Our Past: Camp Chase, Ohio", Matt Switlik received Best Arms or Equipment for his display "US Model 1835 Pack Howitzer Limbered To Harness", Cliff Krainik received Best Photographic for his display "Admiral Raphael Semmes, A Southern Patriot- Not a Southern Pirate", Charles Baylis received Best World Wars for a great display entitles "WWII US Infantry Weapons", Three different Judges Choice Awards were presented, one went to Elizabeth Topping for her display "Civil War Personal Effects of the Gentler S*x", a second Judges Award to Bill Combs for "Protecting Paradise - Spanish Colonial Police Forces 1880-1898" and Amanda Manahan won with a great display entitles "Fold Art & Crafting at the Johnson's Island Civil War Prison. The Best Artillery display went to James Shoeing for his display "Spanish American War Trophies".
The 2024 Best of Show Award went to David Gotter for his grand display of the various artillery grape and canister projectiles! A most impressive display!
A very successful Show this year with so much history to share.

The 46th Ohio Civil War Show opened Saturday morning in Mansfield. The two-day event attracts thousands of visitors to the city.

The 18th Century Colonial Trade Fair:
August 5 & 6th 2023 10am – 5pm both days.

Remembering and honoring practices of times gone by continues to be a time honored and fun tradition. “This family friendly event is about keeping history alive. " We are allowing visitors to step back in time to learn how Early Americans lived. See re-enactments in characters that are fully dressed, cooking and camping as they would have lived on the frontier.
