The bi-annual Point-in-Time Homeless Count is set to take place in Manitowoc County on Wednesday, January 22-Thursday, January 23, 11:00pm-6:00am

Various 2-3 hour shifts are available between 11:00pm-1:00am and 4:00am-6:00am.

The Point-In-Time (PIT) Count is a snapshot of a specific moment in time, used to gather data and track occurrences, of the number of people experiencing homelessness on a given night. The count provides an estimate of the number of people in a particular situation or location at that exact moment. This type of data collection helps organizations and governments understand trends, allocate resources effectively, and plan interventions.

All over the Nation the PIT Count is conducted by service providers and community volunteers. During the times below community volunteers go out to search for unsheltered individuals (i.e. parks, cars, etc.) and provide those individuals with resource information and hygiene products. This event helps connect our unsheltered neighbors to resources, build relationships, and provide an estimate of what homelessness looks like in our community.

Register to volunteer here: bit.ly/42lbRzk

Please contact Lakeshore Community Action Program in Manitowoc at (920) 803-6991 with any questions.
