Manitowoc County’s Remarkable Homes tells the story of the considerable contribution local historic homes have made to our community’s architecture. It also answers questions you've likely asked when you've seen a notable historic home: Who built this house? What brought them here? Why did they select that particular style?

The houses profiled are a mix of public ones you may have visited and private homes you've been hoping for an invitation to explore. Some of are still standing and others have fallen to time. These homes are representative of the varied architectural styles in Wisconsin and have owners with a wide range of interests but truly represent remarkable homes in Manitowoc County.

Sled shed is provided and stocked by the City of Manitowoc Park And Recreation Division. Sleds are free for all to use at Silver Creek Park. Please return when finished.

OUTDOOR ICE RINK OPEN FOR THE 2024-2025 SEASON

The City of Manitowoc public ice skating rink is now open for the 2024-2025 season. The portable rink is set up adjacent to Burger Boat Park and the Briess parking lot in the 700 block of Quay Street. There is no cost to skate; however, you must bring your own skates as skate rental is not available. Benches and picnic tables around the rink are available for those wishing to rest or change footwear. At times, the rink may be closed for resurfacing or weather-related factors. Signs will be posted when it is closed for this or other reasons.

The 2024 ice rink is made possible by Briess Malt & Ingredients Company, Novak’s Service Center, Keller Structures, Hubbartt Electric and affiliates, and the City of Manitowoc.
