FLY FISHERMAN magazine presents a one-time-only premiere screening of the upcoming full-length feature film “Mending the Line.” Join us on June 3, 2023 at 6PM-9PM EST at the historic Allenberry Resort Playhouse in Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania for a night of film, fun, fly fishing, and prizes.

Mending the Line is a story of a former marine suffering from physical and emotional trauma from the war in Afghanistan, his journey finding peace through fly fishing, and helping others. Starring award-winning actors Brian Cox, Wes Studi, Sinqua Walls, Patricia Heaton, Perry Mattfeld, and many more.

100% of the proceeds will support the and quiet waters and their efforts to help post-9/11 and Afghanistan war veterans suffering from trauma. Raffles, a silent auction, and great prizes will be available through partnership with TCO Fly Shop, Allenberry, Precision Fly Fishing & Tackle, Cumberland Valley Trout Unlimited, and Doc Fritchey Trout Unlimited. A post-screening roundtable discussion featuring film director Joshua Caldwell, and WQW Alumni will be hosted to give more information about the film and how you can help our veterans in need.

This emotional and uplifting film features standout performances from Golden Globe Winner Brian Cox (HBO’s “Succession”), Sinqua Walls (The Blackening, White Men Can’t Jump, Nanny), Perry Mattfeld (“In The Dark”, “Shameless”), Patricia Heaton (“Carol’s Second Act”, “The Middle”, “Everybody Loves Raymond”), and Academy Award Winner Wes Studi (The Last of the Mohicans, Dances With Wolves).

The story follows a young soldier (Sinqua Walls), who has just returned home after being wounded in Afghanistan on his last patrol. His doctor (Patricia Heaton) at the VA hospital introduces him to a Vietnam War veteran (Brian Cox), who has been treated at the facility for decades, and teaches him to fly fish, hoping it will help the young man deal with his physical and emotional trauma.

Joshua Caldwell (Infamous) directed the film from the script written by Stephen Camelio. Awarded a Big Sky Film Grant by the Montana Film Office, the film also partnered with the US Marine Corps Entertainment Media Liaison Office and the US Department of Defense.
