BEER OF THE WEEK goes to the GREATER THINGS Sour from Great Notion Brewing, a 6.7%ABV banger that will make you feel like you're in the upside down. This thing was stuffed with tons of pineapple, strawberry & mango with a tart pink chewy candy twist at the end. I don't have a lot of beer buddies that enjoy sours so luckily I mostly drink them by myself, this one wasn't too heavy, I could have had another. Cheers! 🍻🍻🍻πŸ”₯β„β˜˜β™₯️🍺

Checked out Front Row Restaurant in Exeter, NH for a few pours of some New England goodness & a fat double cheeseburger. I had this place suggested to me from a follower on a post a few months ago & was looking for something new to check out semi close to my apartment so it was the perfect time to go. Established twenty-seven years ago in 1999 they seem to have been a popular staple in the seacoast area for awhile now. Exeter is packed with great pubs, restaurants, breweries, taverns & more so being able to standout in a stacked city with all those options isn't easy. The pizza seemed to be the big gimmick, but like the creature of habit I am, scooped a burger. The craft beer list definitely stood out here, it wasn't the most diverse or complex, although it was better than expected. I was able to find a couple new beers I hadn't tried & finished the visit off with one of my favorite brown ales I've had over the years so let's get to it. 🍻🍻πŸ”₯☘

I started off with a couple beers from Trillium Brewing Company I hadn't tried yet & like usual I wasn't let down. The first pour I got was the LET THE CHIP DROP IPA, it was a collaboration with Monkish Brewing Co. out of California. This was good with a ton of citrus, especially grapefruit being very prominent. The second Trillium pour was my favorite of the two. The HEADROOM (2025) DIPA was everything I expected from a haze bomb, it was super hoppy, juicy & had the perfect balance of bitterness. My last pour was the DOUBLE PIG'S EAR Brown Ale from Woodstock Inn Brewery, this is one of my favorite dark beers made in New Hampshire & is always delicious on tap. 🍺πŸ”₯☘🍻🍻

I grabbed the Cheeseburger Special, which was a 6oz angus beef patty with American cheese on a brioche bun. Like the fa**ss I am I added a second angus burger, extra cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles & onions. This thing ended up being much larger than I expected, but I soldiered through it, forging my way through the meat sweats & finished it. I took a nice long three hour nap when I got home to allow my body to recover & catch up after all the trauma I put it through. There was all the usual seating options here including tables, hightops & a decent sized bar. The service was excellent & the prices weren't too crazy for the beers & food. I'll probably make a sidequest here again before years end to try the pies & check out the beer again since I'm just down the street, cheers! 🍻πŸ”₯β˜˜πŸ”βœŒβ™₯️🍺

We're halfway through stout season now (although for a lot of us it's all year long) & I have a couple fun ones here to check out, along with a barleywine. I had saved some of the good stuff to crack during the series finale of Stranger Things, but it was so long & dragged on I should have put a couple more bottles to the side to forge through. 🍻🍻🍻

BARREL AGED REVERSE MIGRATION (BATCH 3 - 2025) Pastry Stout from Equilibrium Brewery 8/10*

STICKY MITTENS Pastry Stout from Prairie Artisan Ales 8.5/10* πŸ†

603 BARREL AGED VANILLA BEAN BARLEYWINE; 2025 VINTAGE from 603 Brewery 7/10*

That STICKY MITTENS was phenomenal, I'm a huge fan of that brewery & buy a lot of what they release in bottles, but this one was excellent. The REVERSE MIGRATION was a solid effort & the VANILLA BEAN BARLEYWINE was good, but I enjoyed the OG barleywine in bottle from them a little more. 🍻πŸ”₯β˜˜πŸ†βœŒβ™₯οΈπŸΊβ„

That New Year brought some awesome beers during tastings with friends & just chilling at my place. Let's get into a few of the goods I cracked over the past week. With three excellent breweries representing here, including a awesome New England & New Hampshire brewery I'm close to, this will be a good round. 🍻🍻🍻

POLISHED DECADE STOUT from Deciduous Brewing Company 8/10* πŸ†

MOON OF VEGA (2025) DIPA from Equilibrium Brewery 7/10*

NARWHAL (2025) Stout from Sierra Nevada 6.5/10*

Some bomb stuff here like I said, I wanted to like the NARWHAL (2025) more than I did, but that's why I grabbed a single. The MOON OF VEGA (2025) was your typical delicious fare from that brewery. POLISHED DECADE was the winner here though with loads & layers of flavor. I've enjoyed other stouts by them more than this one in the past, but still a super solid beer. 🍻πŸ”₯☘✌β™₯️🍺

Sweet Baby Vineyard in Hampstead, NH for a flight of red wines, a glass of a fruited wine & a glass of a white. Being my second winery to date I have officially become a WINE SNOB & know everything about it all now. Clearly I'm joking, I am so far away from knowing anything about wine you could call me Jon Snow. Sweet Baby Vineyards popped up on my radar when I was looking for distilleries & wineries to help diversify the content on my page. Looking them up before I went I saw they won WMUR's Best Winery in New Hampshire last year in 2025 & have been in operation since 2008. I was able to find a excellent deal on Groupon for two flights, a cheese platter & to-go discounts on wine for $13.50. I happen to live in a small wine country hub being close to Flag Hill Distillery & Winery, Zorvino Vineyards, LaBelle Winery, Appolo Vineyards & more within fifteen miles of my home. I had some excellent stuff while here & pairing it with that cheese was pure heaven so let's get in it. πŸ₯‚πŸ·πŸ”₯β˜˜πŸ§€

The flights of red wines were all excellent & included (left to right in the pic) AMARONE as my first taster, a Italian blend with a smoky flavor & velvety mouthfeel. This is supposed to be the perfect wine to match with a good steak. My second taster was the MARECHAL red, it was earthy with notes of blackberries. The third taster was the BARN DOOR RED Blend, this is the house red blend, but aged in bourbon barrels. My last taster in the flight was my favorite, it was the CALLUM'S RED, it was a sweet red with rich chocolate & strawberry notes. I then moved onto a glass of white wine to cleanse my pallet after staining my teeth red. The NIAGARA white was perfectly bitter & tasted like a ripe grape straight off the vine. My last pour was a glass of the BLUEBERRY fruit wine which was awesome, especially if you love blueberries like I do. Great variety here & I liked everything, but the BLUEBERRY & CALLUM'S RED stood out the most for me. πŸ”₯🍷πŸ₯‚πŸ₯‚β˜˜

One thing I have 100% become aware of recently after two wineries now is just how damn good cheese, meats, olives, crackers & more is to pair with wine & spirits. I am a beer guy so all this is new to me, but I love cheese & the giant slab they hook you up with was more than enough to get me through all the pours I tried. There was plenty of seating options with a few hightops in the tasting room & a dining room area down the hall with tables & some couches to chill on. Plenty of wine to go as well in the store & some really good deals on cases. A fun time for sure & I'm becoming a fan of throwing a winery in the mix every once in awhile, cheers! πŸ₯‚πŸ₯‚β˜˜πŸ§€βœŒβ™₯️🍷

This delicious BLACK BARN EXCLUSIVE RYE AMBER ALE from Maine Beer Company got better & better with every rip. I've been enjoying reds & ambers for a couple years now & when I saw these guys had one in bottles I was all over it. This was a brewery exclusive, but luckily I had a friend in the area who brought a couple back for me. 🍻πŸ”₯β˜˜πŸ†βœŒβ™₯️🍺

Jamison's in Hampstead, NH for a few pints & one of the biggest most badass burgers I have had in months. What ended up being a great recommendation from a friend, it was near the other spot I had planned for the day so I figured I'd swing through. I had passed this place in my travels plenty of times, but had never seen it from the road since it was a little tucked back. The tap list here was great as well for a small tavern, not the largest amount of taps, although it was really diverse with styles. They had some New England staples like FIDDLEHEAD IPA from Fiddlehead Brewing Company, THE SUBSTANCE from Bissell Brothers, CLOUD CANDY IPA from Mighty Squirrel Brewing Co. & more. They had everything from lagers, pilsners & pale ales to IPA's, sours & stouts, but let's get into the three pints I grabbed. 🍻🍻πŸ”₯☘

I started off with a pint of the BELGIAN WHITE from Blue Moon Brewing Company. I was feeling like a witbier & it was on special for $5 so why not. I then moved onto a couple beers I hadn't had starting with the LAWN BOY Pale Lager from Tilted Barn Brewery. I'm a big fan of pale lagers & this one was as delicious of a example of the style as you can get. My final pint was THE PERFECT SLICE IPA from Belleflower Brewing, these guys usually kill the IPA game & this was another solid hoppy & fruity offering. 🍻🍺πŸ”₯β„β˜˜

Now let me tell you about one of the sexiest burgers I've seen in recent memory, The Slaughterhouse. It was a hefty piece of fried chicken, cheeseburger, bacon & maple fig glaze on a house roll. I had to press it down & compact it just to get a proper bite of this beast. At a whopping $28 it was well worth it, I didn't eat anything for thirty-two hours after just to allow my body time to recover. The bar here was pretty big & the dining room had plenty of seating options including hightops & tables with a big projector screen for sports and events. There was a function hall attached for big parties as well. The bartender was super friendly & accommodating & the whole place had a simple, but chill vibe. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a new cool spot, cheers!

Christmas was good to me, Santa came early (that's what she said) & brought some of the darkness & dankness to my fridge. A load of Trillium Brewing Company found its way to me as a gift from a friend, which as my favorite of the two big breweries in Massachusetts, couldn't of been cooler. Let's get into my score (shwing) & find out which was the best. 🍻🍻🍻☘πŸ”₯πŸŽ…

SECRET STAIRS Boston Stout 7.5/10* πŸ†

ARTIST STATEMENT IPA 7/10*

SPEED METTLE DIPA 7.5* πŸ†

These three were all excellent, but the stout & DIPA won out in the end with some excellent roast flavor on that stout & some delicious haze on that DIPA. I haven't been to the Trillium Canton location since around April 2025, but am happy they distribute to NH now to save some time & gas. 🍻🍻☘πŸ”₯β„βœŒβ™₯️🍺

BEER OF THE WEEK goes to the CHONK: STRAWBERRY & DARK CHOCOLATE Pastry Sour from Drekker Brewing Company. This thing was absolutely ridiculous & super thick with all the gimmicks killing it. I'll shout it from the rooftops about how damn good Drekker sours are. 🍻🍻🍻πŸ”₯☘✌β™₯️🍺
