With school starting up again, the paper will cover plenty of school news both academically and athletically!

For example, this weekends edition will feature a High School Football preview as well as Football Senior Spotlights. You will also read a preview on the Cross-Country team and the Senior Spotlight for our lone senior runner.

We will highlight the Family Football Day held last Saturday as well as other local news!

Next week we will focus on High School Volleyball and highlight our Junior High athletes as well!

Subscriptions to The Madison News are $78 a year. You can pay for shorter durations so that the cost will fit easily into your budget.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to cut out those special stories that you won’t get anywhere else to keep for a lifetime.

To start your subscription today, call 620-342-4800. Have it come straight to your mailbox instead of relying on picking up a copy as here lately the papers don’t last long once they hit the newsstands here in town.

Happy reading!!

It is back to school tomorrow for USD #386 which means there will be plenty of children walking to bus stops or to school. Do you know that a majority of school transportation related fatalities do not happen on the bus? They occur while children are waiting on the bus, walking or riding a bike or in another vehicle. Let’s all keep our eyes on the road and do our part to ensure a safe school year!

We are a little over a month away from the always fun Fab Finds on 99 event in Madison. Not many places can you go shop for garage sale items, flea market, items, antiques, crafts, furniture and more at the same place.

This event has high traffic and sees people from all over the state and beyond.

Applications are still being accepted for more vendors as there is plenty of room for more plus there will be at least FOUR food trucks and will accept more if different than what is already signed up to make it a Food Truck Rally of sorts.

If you have garage sale items, you can have a booth. If you like to make crafts, jewelry, metal art or anything in between, you can have a booth. If you had a home based business that you have a lot of inventory you want to get rid of, you can have a booth. Friends get your garage sale items ready and have a booth together to make it more fun.

There is trailer alley which means you can load all your things on a trailer, pull up, leave trailer hooked on and sell right off of trailer to make it easier for you. Same $20 fee.

Please reach out to event organizer, Marcie Harrison for more information about a spot immediately by texting 620-437-7331.

**We are inviting any Alumni to activities on Friday afternoon at the High School. Activities include an egg toss (with an alumni winner), a drone shot of all Madison students, faculty and alumni who are there, and a good old fashioned pep rally. (Remember Pep Club anyone??)

The actual Alumni Dinner is now back at the High School from 5:30pm-7:30pm. This earlier start time is to help accomodate those who live greater than 30 minutes away.

If anyone would like to help me design and implement the Trivia contest please let me know. Trivia competitions are a great way for collaborations and competition, 2 things MHS grads are known for.

Please call, text, PM me, email etc with questions or to sign up for the dinner.
