Wisconsin high school and middle school students have been recognized by the Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation for their submissions to the 2024 Wisconsin Civics Games Editorial Essay Contest. Below are the winners for 2024. The contest asked Wisconsin youth to submit editorial essays expressing their thoughts on the First Amendment.

The Journal Sentinel is now offering several ways to help interested students.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel aims to assist local high school students in learning more about journalism — ranging from mentoring and field trips to the newsroom to job shadowing opportunities.

The Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation held the 2024 Wisconsin Civics Games regional competitions virtually on April 11-12. The top-performing teams advanced to the state finals on May 10, at the Wisconsin State Capitol. Members of the state championship-winning team will receive $2,000 scholarships to the Wisconsin college or university of their choice.
