One of my clients used to send PDF invoices and receive checks for payments. It worked... but barely.

Here’s what that system looked like:

📋 Manually tracking whether an invoice was received or viewed.
🗓️ Keeping tabs on due dates with spreadsheets or sticky notes.
✉️ Sending emails for reminders and past-due notices.
💵 Making payments harder by limiting options to checks only.

It was clunky, time-consuming, and stressful.

Now? She uses Square. It tracks invoices, sends reminders automatically, and allows her clients to pay with a click. A single change saves her hours every week.

Here’s the thing about simplifying workflows: It usually involves finding a platform that does the work for you. Yes, these tools come with a subscription cost, but what’s the cost of doing everything manually? Since launching Little Light Solutions, I’ve been much more intentional about how I work. I make time during the day to rest, have fun, exercise, and eat well. This has completely changed how I approach my work.

When I do sit down, I’m focused, energized, and productive. Even better? I’m not so exhausted at the end of the day that I have nothing left to give my family.

As someone who’s autistic and lives with chronic illness, I’ve learned the hard way that if I don’t rest when I need to, my body will force me to. (Spoiler alert: It’s not pretty when that happens.)

So, here’s a reminder for anyone out there pushing through: Rest isn’t just a luxury—it’s a strategy. It’s how you show up fully for the things that matter most.
