Hello Guilford Courier readers,

This is Aaron Rubin, and I would like to introduce myself as the new correspondent for the paper beginning next year. I have been with the Guilford Courier's publisher, ShorePublishing, for nearly three years and was formerly the correspondent for the Valley Courier (Essex, Chester, and Deep River) and the recently closed Courier (East Haven and North Haven). This marks shift from two very different coverage areas into this new one and will require an education on the Town of Guilford and its many affairs from Town Hall to the Town Green. Given this, I am open to the many story all of you have that your fellow Guilford readers and community members should know about, and that I should know about, too. Please do not hesitate to inform me of town-related issues that could make for interesting stories, important meetings, and town-wide cultural events. You can reach me at [email protected].

Guilford Youth & Family Services Youth Advisory board is holding its 24th Annual Teen Gift Card Collection on Sunday, Dec. 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Guilford Commons (between Michaels and Fresh Market). All donations directly support Guilford teens in need and parents with financial struggle during the holiday season. GY&FS is also currently accepting donations at their office, 36 Graves Ave., Guilford through through Friday, Dec. 13.

A two-vehicle accident Saturday morning on Route 80 tragically caused the death of one individual injured in the crash. On Aug. 24, Guilford police reported the deceased, an 82-year old female, was transported from the scene with life-threatening injuries and succumbed to those injuries at the hospital. The name of the deceased was not released pending family notifications.
