When Judah was 6 we began our journey with occupational therapy. Cassie Wilcox has been a constant in our lives for over 4 years working with us to learn and build strategies to better interact with our son. When we met Cassie she was working at Children's Therapy Network and now she has since moved to Milwaukee to be closer to family and has started her own practice called The Wishing Well OT. This is the story of how my family got involved within the special needs community and the impact great people like Cassie have had on our lives. My wife RuthAnn Pometto does a great job telling our story. Both Children's Therapy Network and The Wishing Well OT are great resources for families seeking OT. They both have a family first approach and take the time to bring parents up to speed and work with them find productive solutions to day to day challenges. PM me if you would like a referral or please reach out to either directly!

July 26th marks the 30th Anniversary of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). CRN had planned a statewide event to celebrate this monumental legislation. COVID-19 may have impacted our ability to have this event in its original form but we still had the opportunity to interview Dr. Temple Grandin, National Autism Icon and Nancy Gianni, founder of GiGi's Playhouse, Inc. It was a great opportunity to learn from these great leaders. Attached is the link to the interview. I hope it brings you some value in these uncertain times!

Congrats to Dana Bohrer and Aspire Therapy & Development Services for opening their second location on the east side of Madison. As we start to get back to normal and phase back to our normal lives these amazing clinics like Aspire are doing everything they can to provide your kids the services they need while taking preventive measures to make it as safe as possible. Do them a favor and like and share their posts so that they can better serve this great community and get back to full capacity as we bounce back!

Today, I got to be the Watchdog at my two middle kids school today (Judah and Silas). I walked away with such a sense of gratefulness for the amazing teachers and the support my kids have gotten from this school. Judah’s IEP team which helps him not only learn but navigate autism are some of the most talented people! In total, when you count his team at school and his outside supports he has 11 people helping him navigate the world, but those 11 people are also teaching Ruth Ann and I so much about how to navigate through it all as well! It’s things like this that make forming the Community Resource Network so important. To help bridge the gaps that exist between providers, clients, and communities for everyone... not just my son Judah! Please share this page and what we are up to with others!
