LNP Charges 38-Year-Old Man with Multiple Crimes

The Liberia National Police (LNP) has concluded its investigation and charged defendant Bill Jallah, 38, with multiple offenses, including Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder. These charges stem from the death of Princess Zuo and injuries inflicted on Kormassa Jallah during an incident in Paynesville on Saturday, December 21, 2024.

The charges are in violation of Liberia's Revised Penal Law, specifically Chapter 14, Sections 14.1 and 14.20, as well as Chapter 10, Section 10.1.

Defendant Jallah has been remanded to court to face prosecution.

Liberia has been selected by the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) to develop a new compact, recognizing progress in economic growth and governance. While eligibility doesn’t guarantee funding, Liberia will work with MCC and the U.S. Embassy on the next steps.

The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) has selected Liberia as newly eligible to develop a compact. Liberia was selected as eligible in recognition of the country’s commitment to pursuing critical economic and democratic governance reforms.

MCC expects all partner countries to continue to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the principles of inclusive democratic governance that underpin MCC’s eligibility criteria. Eligibility does not guarantee that Liberia will receive a compact program. MCC and the U.S. Embassy look forward to working closely with the Government of Liberia to launch the compact development process.
