When I was a little girl, playing Barbie’s meant organizing and decorating the Barbie house to look beautiful but never actually playing with the dolls. I excelled in art and music classes in high school and graduated college with a degree in music education. As an adult living on my own for the first time, I wanted to have a decorated home worthy of a magazine cover. Of course my budget was signi

ficantly smaller than those homes that graced the covers of my favorite magazines. My very first home project was painting my kitchen cabinets and the wood paneling…a lot of wood paneling. When my husband and I bought our first house we had a lot of updating and space to fill. It only took me a few trips to the furniture stores to realize not only did I not want to pay the prices of new furniture but that the furniture I was finding wasn’t of the greatest quality. I found myself on more than one occasion saying “I could build that.” So one day, I did. I’ve now built a business painting life back into old pieces of furniture, building new pieces, and creating beautiful spaces for client’s homes. I continue to experiment with new techniques and advancing my skills as an artist and creator to bring my clients the latest trends in home design. I’m so blessed to be able to be a stay at home mom to my beautiful children while having a business doing something I love more and more with each project I complete. I love the gold foil transfers by Kaćha Furniture that she designed for redesign with prima and this release kicked it up a notch with new gold foils PLUS Copper and Rose Gold. I love the simplicity of this transfer "in the field" but the rose gold foil adds something special.

I'm home bound for a bit recovering from surgery and my mind is spinning with workshop ideas!

This was a project I did during my trip to Temecula and I have fallen in love with mixed media. I don't carry much for scrapbooking stuff, but I'd love to dive into this more. What do you think about a journal workshop? This can be both virtual and in person! You get a blank journal and then create the front cover with all sorts of mixed media elements. Yay or nay??

In the past week there has been several sites popping up in my feed advertising Wise Owl Salve. They are offering it at a heavily discounted price and using marketing from Wise Owl retailers. It looks SUPER tempting to make that purchase. BUT- it's a scam. You won't receive anything or you'll get something that is not Wise Owl Salve.

It's an amazing product! People love it! BUT it's a small company that is only sold through small retailers. I have the entire Wise Owl Paint line in stock with every salve scent and brush. Order from my website or pick it up in store at Linden Sky Boutique.

I had a wonderful time in Temecula at the redesign with Prima retailer retreat last week and came back with new products for the shelves and new workshop ideas at Linden Sky Boutique!

These two will be getting on the schedule soon! First is a vase where we will add texture and moulds and second is a lazy Susan customized with decoupage, metallic flakes, stencils, and resin! Each project can be customized to fit your style and decor as there are tons of designs and products to choose from. I'm looking forward to share more with you about all the new products that will be in the shop soon!

The icing on the cake...

This antique piece needed a few repairs to bring it back to life. I filled in spots with bondo, replaced the broken feet with new sturdy feet that match the style, replaced hardware with vintage glass k***s, and reinvented the mirror. The frame no longer held a mirror but needed something to fill in the beautiful frame. I wrapped a piece of plywood with faux cowhide and attached it to the back of the frame as an accent to the longhorn image.

These two gals...

Where do I begin? First off, how dare they live in other states around the country. We "met" in the crazy world we live in called social media as we all have similar businesses. We go to industry events a few times a year in person but keep a constant group chat going that never includes hellos or goodbyes because it never ends. Karie runs Flipping Fabulous in Salina Kansas and is hands down the smartest business person I know. She's incredibly savvy, has an eye for design, and works her tail off for her business. Janelle of The Goodie Girl Shoppe is has the most amazing personality that just shines on her social media and let me tell you...she is exactly the same in real life. She has a way of engaging her audience better than anyone I know and she's an incredible teacher. She runs workshops in her shoppe and comes up with projects for fellow retailers to run in our shops.

All that aside, the are the bestest friends a girl could ask for and I'm so lucky to have them in my life. ♥️

I had this beautiful decoupage paper created specifically for this project and then used Daydream Apothecary Medusa for the gorgeous turquoise paint color. This piece will be heading to Texas with its owners and will fit in perfectly in their new state!

2 weeks ago I had a major abdominal surgery and I have been forced to slow WAY down. I don't sit still well so it's been a struggle. Tonight I took out some of the metallic watercolors from Prima Marketing Inc. and played around with them to create this sign to remind myself to slow down and breathe. It's going to be awhile before I am back creating furniture but in the meantime I'll enjoy the small things. #watercolor #painting #art #artist #smallprojects #justbreathe

2023.... I opened a store! It's pretty wild to think this time last year my store was just an empty shell and now here we are fully operational. We're rolling into the slower time of the year in retail and it's allowed me to look back and reflect on the past year with nothing but gratitude and well, relief. Relief we made it through and relief we're still here. This is not easy and there were many times I thought to myself, what was I thinking? But day in and day out I never wished it away. It's a lot of work, but it's work that I truly enjoy. Excited to see what 2024 has in store!

Love the real tree smell but hate the mess? Get the best of both worlds by adding furniture salve to your tree!

What do you do when you want to makeover a piece that already has a transfer on it? Honestly...not much! The prep is essentially the same as any other piece! Furniture transfers are very thin and sanding it before painting the next coat is all you need to do.
