Music Warriors –
We Need Your Help!
Congress is holding a hearing tomorrow regarding the American Music Fairness Act, bipartisan legislation that will finally require to pay artists when their songs are played on AM/FM radio.
Right now, American artists are losing out on hundreds of millions of dollars in unpaid royalties every year. AM/FM radio remains the most popular music delivery platform in the U.S., reaching nearly 300 million people (88% of the country) each week while playing an estimated 967 million songs each year, but it is also the only music delivery platform that refuses to pay artists when their songs are played. In fact, the U.S. is the ONLY democracy in the world that doesn’t pay artists when their music is played on AM/FM radio.
We need your help!
Raising awareness is critical to winning this fight. We’re asking you to help spread the word about the need for Congress to mandate that AM/FM radio pay performers royalties for the work they do by sharing one (or a few!) of our sample social posts below, or by sharing musicFIRST’s posts.
To help you raise awareness, we created the social media toolkit linked below with suggested content and posts. Feel free to use the content or make up your own.
Thank you for your efforts to make the business of music more fair!

About the
Music Fairness Action Movement
The MFA Movement is made up of thousands of individuals just like you who know that artists deserve to be paid for their work. That’s why we’re working to raise awareness about music justice, make sure our voices are heard by Congress, and call on major radio corporations to pay artists and other music creators for the work they do.
