As a business owner, you don't need another job piled on top of running your company. Social media management is a dedicated, strategic effort to connect with customers and grow your brand.

It's not just about posting pretty pictures -- it's crafting a cohesive presence, engaging your audience, analyzing data, and constantly creating fresh content that builds trust and educates your audience.

Want to reach your health-conscious audience on Instagram? Good news!
The health and wellness niche is popular, but especially popular on this app. Just see how many posts are under .

Make sure you are capturing the attention of this audience! Use these three tips to help.

06/21/2024

Social media might not work for your health and wellness business if you:

1. Do not have a clear marketing budget
2. Are fairly new and have yet to verify that your product or service is needed
3. Have not done enough market research or do not have a clear buyer persona
4. Do not have a website or landing page that has a seamless customer journey and makes it easy to buy from or book you.

Social media helps health and wellness business owners amplify what they already have. So if you already have clients who enjoy working with you or buying from you, that means you have reached a good product market fit; social media will help you reach more clients who enjoy working with you.

But remember, social media marketing is only one form of marketing. And you know what they say, don't put all your eggs in one basket!

Since my last post, I have garnered quite a few new connections so allow me to re-introduce myself.

First off, I help health business owners health their community offline by building their presence online using social media and content marketing.
💃🏽 My dream clients are business owners in the women's health sector.
💪 I am part of the 5 AM club (4:55 to be honest, but who's counting?).
☕️My guilty pleasures are anything with whipped cream on top.
❤️ My public health is my second love. My first love is dance but my knees aren't moving like they used to.
AND I am currently taking 4 more clients for a limited amount of time. If you run a health business, want more sales, and are ready to offload your digital marketing efforts to a public health professional, apply to work with me here.

How can you use Twitter to grow your health business? Let's say you're a nurse practitioner with your own practice:

Join Twitter chats: There are twitter chats that happen weekly, you've just got to find them! APHA, CDC, and others regularly do Twitter chats. Twitter chats are a way to share your expertise while networking with others in your industry.
Use clear and concise messaging: Tweets aren't supposed to be long-winded.
If you want to dive deeper into a topic, make a Twitter thread!
Post more than 1x a day to increase growth. In fact, the average lifespan of a tweet is around 15 minutes.

If you're a doctor, you're most likely too busy to post social media posts every day.
So don't.

There's really no reason why any health professional should feel forced to create content for social media every day.

As long as you're maintaining a consistent presence, you will grow.
Consistency can be 3 x a week. Consistency can even be one time a week.
Obviously, if you're creating less content, the time it takes for you to grow and hit a certain milestone might be longer.
But consistency is queen. (Content is king).
If you're not going to post every day, you can still show up every day by responding to comments on your accounts or even other health-related accounts your audience is most likely to follow.

How I went from freelance writer to agency owner of a health content marketing agency:
1. I studied public health in college while looking for more ways to make money.
2. I was introduced to Upwork and other freelancing websites like Fiverr.
3. I pitched to doctors and nutritionists my blog writing services.
4. I realized that while my writing was helpful, they didn't have any plan for advertising my content.
5. I learned more about social media marketing and creating strategies that drive action.
And the rest is history.

If I was a therapist, this is the type of content I would create to market my practice on social media...

I’d create content in the form of videos, social posts, and even blog posts that cover topics such as:

*How to find the right therapist for me
* Using a mental health app versus using a therapist
*Explain commonly misused terms like “gaslighting” using everyday scenarios

What type of content would you enjoy reading from a therapist?

If you could wave a magic wand over your marketing but could only choose one of these to be fully specialized and automated for you, which would it be and why?

A) Blog writing content
B) Social media content creation and engagement
C) Email newsletter creation

Don't know what to talk about in March? Here are a few health and wellness awareness days/weeks to create content around:

National Kidney Month
National Nutrition Month
Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month
Brain Awareness Week
National Sleep Awareness Week

If you're struggling with what to post, leveraging awareness days are a great way to stay current and educate your audience.

You as a health professional probably know that sitting for over 8 hours a day can increase your risk of heart disease.

But your online audience does not.

To grab attention online, use facts that your regular patient or consumer might not know about. This is an easy way to show up as a thought leader online and encourage healthier habits offline.

It's ❤️ month. Here's what I'd post if I wanted to increase the visibility of my practice online while educating my audience:

1. Facts about the heart--like how sitting for 8 hours straight is tied to an increased risk of heart disease.
2. Cardio workouts you can do at home.
3. Your favorite heart-healthy foods and how to prepare them deliciously.

Comment below with how you will show up as a thought leader in the health space this month!

Before hiring a social media manager, make sure you have these things in place:

1. A password vault: Services such as 1Password or LastPass gives login access without showing your password.

2. A goal: What are you using social media for? Understand your why so your social media manager will be able to create the how.

3. Trust: Let the social media manager do their job--you hired them to take this daunting but necessary task off your plate.

It's American ❤️ month. Here are a few content ideas I'd post if I wanted to increase the visibility of my practice online while educating my audience:
1. Post facts about the heart and heart disease, like how sitting for 8 hours straight is tied to an increased risk of heart disease.
2. Share cardio workouts you can do at home or when your patients are in a pinch for time.
3. Share your favorite heart-healthy foods and how to prepare them deliciously.

How will you show up to serve your patients online this month?

Are you only relying on social media to grow your health business online? Here's why that might be a bad idea:

According to Hootsuite, only one in every 19 fans will see your non-promoted content. That’s less than 8%.

Let’s say you decide to have a referral program for your patients. Or a rewards program for returning customers.
If they bring in another patient, they get a $100 gift card to Target.
And let’s say you’re only offering this for 10 days.
It’s unlikely that with social media alone (and no ads), you’ll get your message out on time. Some people on LinkedIn only see my posts a week after they have gone out!

An email list helps you communicate with the people who’ve visited your website and are either interested or might be interested in working with you in some capacity.
People can follow you on Instagram, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they want to buy from you. Likes and followers are vanity metrics and can be easily bought.

But an email list? Oh, capturing an email address of a potential patient is valuable.
Want proof? Sure:
How many times do you check your email list in a day? Share below 👇🏽

How I set myself up for success each day. Don't worry – there's no "easy 9-step morning routine" to follow here. I don't believe in complication, but I do believe in setting the tone for my day with certain habits I've honed over the years.

Here's what I do each day:
✨I work out every morning, not for my body - but for my mind,
✨I make sure I leave my phone anywhere besides my bedroom and wait until after my morning routine to check it,
✨and I always meditate before work.

What do you think? Is there something I'm missing?

How to drive traffic from social media to your health and wellness business:
✅ Pick a social media platform that you can be consistent with. And remember consistency can mean once a day or even once a week.

✅ Show up EVERY day. While you don't have to post every day, you should be following industry leaders, leaving solution-based comments, answering questions, and ultimately being *SOCIAL* on a daily basis.

✅ Keep track of where you're starting from with base metrics. You can use Google Analytics, but many social media platforms already have built-in analytics tools.

✅ Make sure almost every post has a call to action. Include actions like, sign up a 1:1 consultation, download my e-book, join my email list, and others you seem fit.

✅Review your metrics regularly to see where you can improve.
Remember, what isn't measured isn't managed! If you want to use social media and digital marketing to build your business, you've got to measure how well your efforts are performing.

Let my team handle it for you.
At Blossom into Wellness, we empower doctors and health businesses to heal their communities offline while we build your presence online.

Where should you post if you want to educate women 25-34?

First figure out what platforms they like to hang out on.
You'll find them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
In fact, 25-34 year old's actually make up the largest age demographic on Facebook and Instagram (Sprout Social, 2022).

Then, assess which of these platforms you like to hang out on.
It's much easier to stay consistent with content creation on a social media platform if you're already active on that platform.

Pick that platform and stick to a content schedule for at least 90 days.
This gives you more than enough time to learn more about marketing on the platform, progressing, seeing what resonates with your audience, and getting more comfortable with content creation.

I chose LinkedIn because I can better connect with decision-makers online.
And because at one point, I was using LinkedIn to apply for jobs, so I was already pretty comfortable with the platform.

Which platform will you commit 90 days to?

Don't have 90 days? Let us do the testing and content creation for you. Book a call today: https://calendly.com/blossomo/30minnetworking-call-clone

*How to find the right therapist for me
* Using a mental health app versus using a therapist

A few therapists that I think are doing a great job marketing their practice on social media are:

Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis
Kobe Campbell
Josephs Legacy

Who would you add to the list?

TIMING IS EVERYTHING, THEY SAY. But how do you know when is the right time to work with a health marketing micro agency?

When I look back on my most successful clients, I see a few key patterns that helped them reach their goals with me.

🔑 They knew that their patients and customers were already online
🔑 They needed to take care of their own clients while still growing a pipeline of new business
🔑 They were tired of trying to understand the new social media platforms and their ever-changing landscapes
🔑 Social media didn't "work" for them, and they're TIRED of doing all the work

If you're reading this thinking, "yes, Yes, YES!"... then you could be ready to take that next step. Let's talk about next steps:

Next steps include meeting with a public health professional turned content strategist (i.e. Me)

After that, you'll get a PDF of a content strategy that my team created solely for your business goals. We don't do cookie-cutter strategies.

We'll keep track of your baseline metrics and create content that's informative, engaging, and builds your presence online.
And you continue to heal your community offline.

Ready to take those next steps? Take the first step by booking your 15-minute strategy call with me.

5 things you no longer need to do when you hire a social media strategist:

- No more keeping up with social media trends.

- No more guessing to see what type of content resonates with your audience.

- No more guessing what your ROI is.

- No more spending time searching for the next trendy audio on Instagram.

- No more using lifeless and boring stock photos because you don't have any content.

Ready to stop doing these things in your health business? Send me a DM!

Here’s how I’m different from your average social media marketing agency:
✨My ideal clients are business owners who focus on leading others toward a healthier lifestyle
✨I studied public health during undergrad and am passionate about prevention-based medicine
✨I work with a small team of contractors who are all based in the US.
I’m actually pretty funny. When it comes to creating content for an industry as politically charged, confusing, and important as health, it definitely helps to be funny.
