Map loading system for our GBA platformer

This will be the second fully released game we've made. On our first game, Inky and the Alien Aquarium, we didn't share it with people till it was pretty much done. The feedback we got we got from our super awesome backers is they wanted to be a part of the development process. So for this game, we are putting it all out there.

This video is a recap of our last stream where we continued brainstorming characters for our next GBA game. This will be the second fully released game we've made. We know our game will be a platformer with a focus on exploration and treasure finding. Today I will continue drawing cute monsters as possible characters. In our brainstorming process we try to come up with as many ideas as possible before settling on one.
For inspiration I pulled from this article, https://www.medievalists.net/2024/10/medieval-book-monsters/. It has short descriptions of monsters in it. I thought it would be fun to try and draw cute versions of them.

We are working on a new GBA game and are sharing the game making process from start to (hopefully) finish.
Sean just finished the bones of the build and physics systems. Casey has been brainstorming art and story ideas.
Next step is to find mechanics that feel good.
This will be our 2nd fully released game for the GBA, but first time we are sharing the game before it's done. We hope to inspire other people to make games for older systems like the GBA.
