MOON ILLUSION! Summer solstice and the full moon are both occurring today! On Mackinac Island, we will enjoy 15 hours and 44 minutes of daylight before the sunsets at 9:32 pm and the full moon rises at 9:58 pm. Photos like this, provided by It's Wonderful Photography by Sara Wright … are easily accomplished by taking a short romantic walk to the shoreline with your photographer at twilight.

Since tonight’s June full Moon happens on the solstice, the very day the Sun is absolutely at its highest of the year, this month’s full Moon on the 21st is the very lowest full Moon, indeed, “the lowest we’ve seen in years," the Almanac reported. "Just look at it! Because the Moon is so low, it will appear bigger than ever. This is called the 'Moon Illusion.'"
