A few more spots are still open for the upcoming equitation clinic at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia. Groups for upper level riders, 2' riders, or crossrail riders, 6th to 12th grade. Congrats to Abigail Evans of Chagrin Falls, Ohio - Champion of the ETS Medal at Tournament of Champions Horse Shows Preseason Classic at Otterbein University. CONGRATS to ABBY Abby Ringuette from Connecticut, Class of 2026, the latest winner of the Emory & Henry University "Most Outstanding Rider" $5000 award at the ETS Boot Camp hosted by the Virginia Tech Hokies in Blacksburg. This was the SECOND time Abby has won the E&H award, having been the Most Outstanding Rider also at the Mount Holyoke clinic in February 2024. Big CONGRATS to Braelyn Webb, Emory & Henry University Most Outstanding Rider at the Seattle ETS clinic, and winner of a $5000 E&H scholarship. Braelyn is Class of '25, from Snoqualmie, Washington and is a Team Captain for the Sharkey Farms IEA team. Among other things, she was 6th place at IEA 2024 Nationals in Open Flat.

CONGRATS to ETS alum Josie Sumner, on her new job with Intermont Equestrian At Emory & Henry University. We first met Josie at ETS clinics at both Findlay and SCAD when she was a high school student from northwest Chicago suburbs. She earned a scholarship and rode on the team at Emory and Henry, worked for a time as a hunter trainer in Georgia, before recently returning to EHU. Go Josie!

A blast from the past - from my friend Steve Maxwell of campusequestrian.com. Miami Redhawk Equestrians winning the 2002 Holiday Tournament of Champions, hosted by Saint Andrews University in North Carolina. From the left: Gwen Arrigon, Jon Dreyer, Lisa Lewis, Megan Palmer, Sarah Zicki, Kelly Long, Taylor Helmkamp, Cheryl Weinkham, Stefanie "Slick" Fink and me. We actually tied with Virginia Intermont (in the days before tie-breakers), and Steve said he quoted coaches in the article who said this show was the most competitive show ever, even more than Nationals! Steve said Palmer and Dreyer won blues.
