Making soap part 1. It’s cool seeing how fast the liquid gets hot once you add the lye. #soap #soapmaking #cpsoap #coldprocesssoap #homestead
Cutting soap is our favorite part of soap making. You never know what the end design will look like #soapmaking #soapcutting #coldprocesssoap #homestead
Weekly worm bin update! They’re consuming quite a lot of food right now. We started with 1000 worms and now we have lots of babies and some soldier fly larvae consuming the food. All in all, the bins are doing great considering the sweltering heat we currently have. #worms #wormbin #vermicomposting #vermicompost #composting #gardening #organic #fyp
Made homemade butter. It’s so easy to make your own butter at home. We used 64oz of heavy cream which yielded 1.5 lbs of butter and 32 oz of buttermilk. We used the buttermilk for ranch dressing. #butter #homemade #homestead #buttermilk
It’s so peaceful watching all of the insects enjoying the flowers on our property #homestead #gardening #bumblebee #butterflies #boxelderbugs #fyp
Lots of blueberries on this one bush. 🫐
Our garden is very therapeutic. #gardening #garden #homestead
Apple butter bbq sauce is ready. I have a slab of ribs on the smoker now. Have plenty to can although it’ll go fast in our home.
We’ve had enough of these beetles! We have netting around the plants they keep attacking but they don’t stop.
A look at our garden. I got up early this morning to give the plants a good watering. We’re going on 2 weeks no rain and today’s temp will be 100°. Everything is doing great in the garden given the hot temps #gardening #georgia #organic #vegetablegarden #homestead
Our worm bin is full, so it’s time to add another bin so they can move upward allowing us to harvest the castings for our garden. #worms #vermicompost #compost #gardening #homestead
