Maple Acres Homestead Welcome to our homestead in the North Georgia mountains! We specialize in soap making, sourdough breads, gardening, cooking and canning.

Weekly worm bin update! They’re consuming quite a lot of food right now. We started with 1000 worms and now we have lots of babies and some soldier fly larvae consuming the food. Made homemade butter. It’s so easy to make your own butter at home. We used 64oz of heavy cream which yielded 1.5 lbs of butter and 32 oz of buttermilk. We used the buttermilk for ranch dressing. #butter #homemade #homestead #buttermilk

Apple butter bbq sauce is ready. I have a slab of ribs on the smoker now. Have plenty to can although it’ll go fast in our home.

We’ve had enough of these beetles! We have netting around the plants they keep attacking but they don’t stop.
