This was on US 59 in Timpson earlier this morning. This is why we urge motorists not to drive through flooded roadways. There are still high water spots being reported in Nacogdoches County, including areas of US 59, FM 1878 at Carrizo Creek and Lanana Creek at Starr Avenue in Nacogdoches. Stay alert and take alternate routes if you encounter high water.

UPDATE: As a result of the storms, phone systems at the county court house and other offices may not be functioning correctly. Repairs are underway.

UPDATE:
East Main Street at and near Lanana Creek is now closed

Road closures:
MLK between S University and Fredonia, South Pecan, Pearl Street from Main to Starr, South Pillar road damage (report of road caved in), high water reported on North University at Maroney.
Starr Avenue near the SFA Intramural Fields is closed off.
South Church Street
Press Road
East Main at Lanana Creek
Also numerous traffic lights are not working or blinking.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Old Union Road from Trailwood Circle to Live Oak Lane is currently closed due to a structure fire at Great Oaks Apartments.

We expect the closure to last for the next couple of hours so school pickup and bus routes to Brookhollow Elementary will be affected. Traffic entering Brookhollow will need to do so by an alternative route.

We will notify you when the road is reopened.
