I can tell you one thousand times that you are chosen, known, and loved, but I need you to believe it for yourself.â €
â €
So today, look yourself in the mirror and say, “I am chosen, I am known and I am loved.” And if you have to say it more than once, that's okay. Say it until you believe it, and then live as if it is true.

If God can use a donkey, He can also use you. This is from Anne Graham Lotz devotional this morning.

Attracted to Weakness
It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God.

1 Corinthians 1:30, NIV

Who do you say you can’t witness to because he or she is an intellectual, or highly educated, and you are not? Or maybe the person has a seminary degree and you have just started going to church. Remember, it was Joseph, a Hebrew teenager and slave, not the wise men of Egypt, who interpreted Pharaoh’s dreams. It was another Hebrew slave, Daniel, not the wise men of Babylon, who deciphered the mysterious writing on the wall of Belshazzar’s palace. It was the unlettered fishermen, not the Scribes and the Pharisees, who were taken into the confidence of Christ and used of God to build His church.

Do you feel inadequate intellectually, educationally, socially, theologically? Good! God can use you! He states clearly that He “chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things – and the things that are not – to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him” (1 Cor. 1:27-28, NIV). God is attracted to your weakness!

The apostle Paul knew the secret of victory when he and Silas were thrown into the inner cell of a prison, their feet fastened in stocks, because they had preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God” (Acts 16:24-25, NIV). As a result ...

Today Jesus reveals God to you and me. His name is also Jesus, which means Savior, because He came to save us from the penalty and p...

Naomi only knew tears and loss as she and Ruth began the long journey back to her homeland. Ruth was courageous to travel to a land she did not know -she only did it out of her pure devotion to Naomi. I can imagine as they took each step, they realized they were farther away from what they left behind...The memories, the love of their husbands, their homes and dreams. Strength and determination set in as they walked a trail of tears.
This road I have walked has had many bumps along the way: the feeling of rejection, the looks from others who didn't know the whole story, the feeling of complete isolation, a feeling of aimless wandering and dismay. Some days were a blur. I was on auto pilot just to keep going, to keep me and my kids moving forward. Going to what? where am I going? The trail of tears may seem so long, but I assure you -the flow of them will lessen as time goes on. Sometimes, as a single momma, it has felt like a road only a few walk. You feel like an outsider and you wish someone would care. Not only care- but not cast judgment, because when you do humbly reach out for help it feels like you receive scorn, or that people think you're out to get whatever for free. I can tell you, for the most part, that is not the case. It took everything just to ask for help. We just want the best for our kids as any Momma would want for her child. I think that the church can be cruel without knowing. They assume things and they treat single moms like outcasts, as if we did something wrong -like it's our fault that our husbands left. Women who have been abandoned....They just want to know it's going to be alright. We just want friendship. We want a helping hand when our hands are too full of burdens. We want to be loved...just simply loved. Our hearts have been through a shredder...ripped to pieces. We just want someone to say, "I am with you no matter what, and I am going to love you where you're at."
On this trail of tears many thoughts come through our minds. We go through an emotional war within ourselves as we battle against (and for) letting go of the feelings and attachments to the one we loved. Overcoming the rejection of being hurt and abandoned was a huge hurdle for me to jump over. It was like a huge boulder blocking my road, and I had to push and push against this huge thing in my life. I had to face it. I had to trust Poppa God that He loves me even if no man on this planet did. I did finally learn to climb over it. It was not easy. I had to reteach myself where my value came from. I had to learn that it wasn't from the man who left me, nor would it ever be from any other man on this earth. My value is from what God's view of me is...I'm loved, I'm special, I'm His favorite...the apple of His eye. As time passed on this road, I began to discover treasures for me to pick up along the way...Lessons. Wisdom. Truth. I began to embrace this road of suffering. I found there was purpose. I became stronger in my faith. Stronger in my walk with the Lord as I began to realize He is walking right beside me. I might not see Him or even feel Him at times, but when I look back over my shoulder I realized He was and has been all along. I don't feel like I am on a trail of tears anymore...I finally arrived in the strange land where Ruth decided to dwell. My heart no longer feels broken, but it still hasn't gotten easier -my journey has just shifted. I'm now in the field working. It's hard work; at times, exhausting. My burdens for others keep me gleaning wisdom in the field where Poppa God has assigned me. I am utterly grateful. So grateful for His goodness...His mercies and His grace. The Sailboat Principle

Friday, June 10, 2022

The first time my father and I tried sailing a sailboat, the instructor gave us directions. He said that we couldn't keep the sail in just one position; we'd have to adjust it continuously. We didn't so we ended up in the water with a turned-over sailboat. When sailing, even if you are only 5 degrees to the right or left, you will be soon completely off course and eventually totally lost. So it is in life and with the Lord. The Bible says to examine yourself to see if you are in the faith. You can't just commit your life to the Lord yet never check to see if your life and your heart are still on course. It's easy to go off a few degrees to the right or left. Are you off a few degrees from prayer, from the Word, from the joy of the Lord, or from your first love in God? Then it's time to adjust and correct your course. Renew your love and your devotion to Him every day. Continually refocus and concentrate your journey on Him. Then you'll stay the course and not become lost or shipwrecked.

Scripture: Hebrews 12:1-2

Today's Mission - Check your bearings today. Are you on course or off course. Adjust whatever needs to be adjusted and sail ahead.

The Spirit Graduates

Thursday, June 9, 2022

On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came. Why then? One reason is because the disciples were at a crossroads. Their discipleship was over, they finished the course, their teacher was gone, and it was time to go forth and disciple. They had been taught; now they were to become teachers. They watched Messiah perform miracles; now they were to perform miracles by His power. They listened as Messiah spoke and operated as the representative of God; now they were to speak and represent God by His power. They watched Messiah minister; now they were to become ministers. But how were they to do all this? Through His Spirit. The Spirit came so they could graduate from observing to doing. Do you want to walk in the power of the Spirit in your life? Stop expecting others to minister to you, and start ministering. Stop waiting on others to bless you and become a blessing. Take the reins of your calling and set your heart on attaining maturity in Messiah. Be ready to graduate and do the work of Messiah. Then He will send His Spirit, anoint you, and give you His power.

Scripture: Ephesians 4:13

Today's Mission - Start your day by being in the presence of the Lord and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. Minister to others, find the need where He leads you and be the blessing.
