Reminder! The 1930's Murder Mystery Dinner Theater, An Anniversary To Die For, at Murrah's Main Event, presented by
The Arts Committee of GC Chamber of Commerce 5191 Main Street, Lucedale is this Saturday, October 19th. Doors open at 5:30 pm. This is a Sold Out Event . But no worries there will be another performance set for Friday, February 14 and a performance set for Saturday February 15. Great event to attend for your Valentine Weekend!. Tickets will be $60 a ticket and available by mid November and sold at Community Bank on Main Street and also online.

We had a really cool experience this morning covering news of a Black Bear that was captured in the Gatlin Creek area of Greene County and tagged, documented and released in the same location. The Fair will be October 15th through 19th at the George County fairgrounds on highway 63 South.

Join us for family friendly fun, music, food, games, and more!

Tuesday and Thursday are Family Night and Friday is Buddy night.

Gates open at 5:30 PM and the carnival group starts selling wrist bands at 6:00 PM

Entrance is $2 for persons 6 and older. Younger than 6 is free.

Wednesday instead of an admittance ticket the carnival group will be selling ride bands to enter the gates.

Ride band prices are set by the carnival group.

Can’t wait to see you there!

Today we presented a check to the George County High School CTE Health Science Class to purchase a portable handwashing station to be able to teach elementary students proper handwashing etiquette!

**Disaster Relief Items Needed**

In response to the recent storms that have devastated several states, we are organizing disaster relief teams to assist those in need. Team will be headed out October 6th. Here is an updated list of items needed the most:

Flashlights
Batteries
Water
Non perishable food
Child and adult diapers
Personal hygiene items (male and female)
laundry detergent
Baby food
Dry baby formula ďżź
Air mattress

**Please note:** At this time, we cannot accept clothing donations.

These storms have left many in desperate situations. Please join us in prayer for God’s provision and let’s be the **HANDS AND FEET OF JESUS** in this time of need! You may bring items this Sunday to Lucedale Church of God and place them in the fellowship hall. We will be loading everything up after service to take to a drop off location. Thank you!

Our linemen are actively restoring power this morning near Quincy, Fla. as they help bring Talquin Electric Cooperative’s outage number to zero. They are seeing a lot of fallen trees and power lines on the ground.

According to Talquin’s morning Facebook update, approximately 13,100 meters remain without power, while they’ve successfully restored power to 22,022 meters from the onset of Category 4 Hurricane Helene.

High-Speed Pursuit Leads to Arrest in Brushy Creek Community
George County, MS

September 26, 2024 – Deputies with the George County Sheriff's Office were conducting a routine safety checkpoint in the Brushy Creek community when a vehicle approaching the checkpoint refused to stop, initiating a high-speed pursuit.

The pursuit, which spanned multiple roadways, came to an end in the Sanford Drive area after the driver attempted to flee on foot. Following a brief foot chase, Deputies apprehended the suspect.

The driver, Joseph Holloway, has been arrested and is facing multiple charges, including:
• Disorderly Conduct - Failure to Comply
• Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement in a Motor Vehicle
• No Tag
• No Driver's License
• No Proof of Liability Insurance
• Reckless Driving
• Driving on the Wrong Side of Roadway (x2)
• Improper Turn (x6)
• Disregard for Traffic Device (x4)

The suspect is currently housed at the George County Regional Correctional Facility, pending an initial appearance before a George County Justice Court Judge.

Sheriff Mitchell Mixon commended the Deputies for their swift response, emphasizing the importance of public safety and the ongoing efforts to enforce traffic laws throughout the county.

BOLO: Michael Crawford - Wanted for Felony Charges

🚨Be on the Lookout (BOLO)🚨

The George County Sheriff's Office has issued two felony warrants for Michael Crawford in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle.

Michael is believed to be driving a black truck equipped with some sort of towing device on the back. The tag number is unknown at this time, and the vehicle is not registered to him.

Michael frequents the Howell area, as well as, Semmes, AL.

If you have any information on Michael Crawford's whereabouts or are able to locate him, please call 911 or the George County Sheriff’s Office at (601)947-4811 with any information.

DO NOT approach him directly!
