The new BWs, aka Zuma, takes a departure from its sporty design with the introduction of the third generation a couple of years ago, opting for a more rugged style. Equipped with a 125cc single, now water-cooled, and paired with a set of knobby tires, the Zuma promises adventures that other scooters might shy away from.

Ok, ok… while many of its rugged features are primarily for aesthetics, Yamaha's renowned reliability gives us confidence that the Zuma remains one of the top choices for those seeking a reliable city commuter that's also capable of handling occasional off-road excursions.

What sets the Django 125 apart? Well, the retro-inspired design is a start. Most of the scooters nowadays tend to feature sporty or adventurous lines, Peugeot took a different approach with the Django, its design surly stands out in the packed sea of 125cc city go-getters. Thanks to its timeless lines, Django exudes a cool factor that can only be matched by the Italians. But, don’t let that fool you into thinking Django is a relic. Featuring all of the modern touches we’ve come to expect from scooters in the 125cc category and thanks to Peugeot’s partnership with SYM, this stylish scooter is destined to be as reliable as it is pretty.

What are your thoughts on the Django?

As the adventure-style scooters gain increasing popularity, SYM, a prominent player in the industry, has also made its entry into the crossover segment.

According to SYM, the ADX isn't just another adventure-styled scooter meant for the road; it's designed to conquer a wide range of terrains.

What are your impressions of the ADX?

The surge in popularity of Honda’s X-ADV has generated significant interest in adventure-styled scooters. The latest entrant in this category is the Peugeot XP400GT.

With its powerful 400cc engine, top-tier suspension, spoke wheels, and bold, aggressive design, the XP400GT is set to capture attention and make a statement.

With the starting price tag around the €8,000 mark, how do you think the XP400GT will do against the likes of Kymco’s DT360 and Honda’s ADV350?

It’s here!

Kymco's CV3, equipped with an advanced 3-wheel suspension system, aims to be the top-tier adventure scooter available in the United States. Boasting the same potent 550cc twin-cylinder engine as its sibling, the AK550, the CV3 emerges as a compelling choice for those in search of a comfortable, user-friendly, yet agile scooter capable of conquering both city streets and highways.

With a price tag just shy of $12,000, the CV3 may not align with everyone's budget, but for those willing to invest, it offers a high-quality piece of kit.

What are your thoughts on the CV3's introduction to the US market?

Although not available in this amazing color scheme, the ADV160 is now available for sale in the USA, replacing the ADV150.

Sharing most of its underpinnings with the ever so popular PCX, the new ADV160 features slight design changes, although the general style is mostly identical to its predecessor.

The ADV160 still features a steel frame, two position manually adjustable windscreen, Honda’s smart key system and an updated display.

The ccs have jumped to 157, however so has the price. With shipping and an added freight charge, (not sure why that’s still a thing) those interested in riding one out of the dealership are looking at a $4,999 price tag (msrp of $4,999 plus another $500 for the shipping costs).

While the SYM Fiddle draws inspiration from the Italian giant, it takes pride in its design and it should not be overlooked as it has plenty to offer for those seeking a reliable and stylish daily commuter.

Unlike the Vespa's metal construction, the Fiddle mostly features a durable plastic body. The plastic body means you won't have to worry about rust issues, and in case of an accident while zipping to the grocery store, the replacement panels should be relatively affordable and easy to replace.

The instrument panel boasts a modern digital display that is easy to read, it also incorporates an LED headlight, providing excellent illumination for safer night rides. Moreover, it features a USB port so those of us with phone battery anxiety need not worry.

When it comes to performance, the Fiddle’s little single doesn't disappoint, offering ample power and reaching a top speed of around 65 mph, it’s plenty quick, although it’s worth mentioning that the engine feels best while cruising between 40-50 mph. Comfort and stability are also top-notch, ensuring a smooth journey even on the bumpiest of roads.

One of the standout features of the Fiddle is its combined braking system, which works seamlessly and contributes to enhanced safety while riding.

The SYM Fiddle's build quality is outstanding, reflecting SYM’s commitment to delivering a reliable and long-lasting scooter, it’s one of our favorites in the 150cc class, we just wished the MSRP was a tad bit lower, however, event at a hefty price tag of almost $4k, the Fiddle is definitely worth considering.

Adventure-style scooters are gaining popularity in recent times, as riders are becoming drawn to the freedom of exploring those less traveled roads. The Aprilia SR GT is the newest addition to the growing adventure-scooter lineup.

If you're not familiar with Aprilia, they are an Italian manufacturer primarily known for producing high-performance motorcycles. So, you might wonder why they decided to venture into the world of adventure styled scooters.

Aprilia is owned by Piaggio, the parent company of Vespa, and while their main focus remains on building racing motorcycles, they also possess expertise in building scooters, having build the iconic SR 50 for over a decade. Hence, the Aprilia brand brings its knowledge and experience to the creation of the SR GT, giving those seeking something a bit more capable off-road yet another option.

The SR GT is available in two versions: a 125cc and a 200cc (more precisely, a 174cc). Designed to rival the ADV 160 by Honda, the Aprilia SR GT has garnered positive reviews from motorcycle journalists worldwide.

Unfortunately, it is not slated for release in North America, leaving those of us living here unable to experience yet another pretty badass scoot.

Launched in 2015, the Yamaha NMAX entered the market as a formidable rival to Honda's PCX. It has since gained an immense following among those seeking an entry-level maxi-scooter throughout Asia and Europe. With engine options of 125 cc and 155 cc, the NMAX boasts a sleek design featuring sharp and sporty lines and offers plenty of storage underneath the seat for added convenience. This attractive combination has made it a popular choice for riders who desire a versatile city commuter with enough power to handle an occasional adventure on those less-traveled roads.

How do you think the NMAX stacks up against the ever so popular PCX?

Powered by a 839cc V-twin, the Aprilia SRV 850 is unlike any other maxi-scooter you may have encountered, unless, of course, you happened to run into the GP 800.

Largely based on the Gilera, the SRV 850 was design with only one thought in mind, power! With a top speed of 120-ish mp/h, it was, in fact, a straight line monster.

Although, like it’s older brother, it was not a huge success in terms of sales, the more it has been off the market, the larger its cult following has become.

What are your thoughts on the SRV?

Although most of us scooter enthusiasts know about the three popular Suzuki Burgman models, the 200, 400, and 650, it may come as a surprise to those of you living in North America that Suzuki also offers a 125 cc variant. What may come as an even bigger surprise is that the Burgman 125 has been available for over 20 years, capturing the hearts of riders in Asia and recently in Europe as well.

Introduced in 2002, the little Burgman has become one of the top-selling scooters in Suzuki’s lineup in many Asian countries. Equipped with a powerful and efficient 125 cc engine, the compact Burgman delivers ample power for daily commuting while impressing with its fuel efficiency. Although its unique and unconventional design may not appeal to everyone, we find it undeniably captivating.

Although the Zuma (BW’s) has been around since the late 1980s, Yamaha did not introduce the 125cc version until 2009. Currently in its third iteration, the Zuma remains one of the most entertaining two-wheelers available.

The second generation of the Zuma, (shown above), made its debut in 2016. Our team considers the second gen to be one of the best 125ccs available. Thanks to its eccentric design, rugged build, dependable powertrain, and exceptional performance, it offers more smiles per gallon than pretty much anything else in its class. Its 125cc, 4-stroke, fan-cooled single also packs enough power for a quick trip out on the twisties.

The concept for the Italjet Dragster was conceived in the mid-1990s, fueled by the visionary ideas of Mr. Leopoldo Tartarini, the founder of Italjet. Driven by the ambition to create a true sports scooter, the design of the Dragster embodies many of Tartarini's original concepts.

The debut of the first generation Dragster was met with resounding success among scooter enthusiasts, with over 70,000 units sold. This achievement propelled Italjet to further innovation, breathing new life into new iterations of the Dragster.

Today, Italjet's lineup consists of the 125cc and 200cc variants of the Dragster, both of which boast class-leading power and breathtakingly stunning silhouettes.

Introduced in the mid-1950s, the Type 501 was produced by a Czechoslovakian motorcycle and scooter manufacturer, Cezeta. Featuring a 175cc two-stroke single, it sold over 120,000 units to customers in Europe, South America, and Asia. First launched in India in 2016, The Honda Navi has gained popularity for its distinctive styling and affordable price.

Okay, but why are you featuring something that looks like a motorcycle in a scooter magazine?

Well, although the Navi features a distinctive design that combines elements of a motorcycle and a scooter, underneath the fancy bodywork, the Navi is pretty much just a dressed up scooter. In fact, it is based on one.

The Navi arrived in the US in the early months of last year and became a pretty instant hit due to its relatively low msrp of just a few George Washingtons over $1,800.

In our second issue, we take a deep look at the Navi and at what made it such an instant hit in the US.

Hello, friends!

Firstly, I want to thank you all for the incredible support I have received over the last couple of days. I’ve received dozens of messages from people praising the first issue and offering feedback so the second can be at least a tad bit better.

Again, as this is a hobby for me, something I do after I’m done working my two jobs, i don’t think any issue will be perfect, but, as I really enjoy this, and as it’s super cool to share it with everyone else who shares the same love for scooters, I’ll do my best to make every future issue a bit better, both visually and verbally.

I have a few ideas bouncing around in my head, one of which includes a reader’s review segment. So, if anyone would like to share a few words about why they ride what they ride, and maybe a picture or two, I’d love to feature it in the upcoming issues.

I also wanted to share a very early draft of the second issue which will feature a deeper look into the most powerful maxi we have currently on sale in the US.

Other features will be announced a bit later but expect a couple of 50cc scoots and something odd and weird as well.

Again, thank you all so much for liking this page. It’s a work in progress, but as the weeks go by, I’ll try to make it a bit more visually appealing, while also featuring cool and interesting scooter related news with everyone.

Thank you to all who have liked this page. As someone who loves scooters, I wanted to do something cool and share it with all of you.

As I’ve said before, this first issue isn’t perfect, however, I did my best in the time that I had, and the feedback I get from you all, I’ll happily utilize to make the second issue at least a tad bit better.

I would also appreciate any feedback you may have. For the upcoming issues I plan on dedicating a section to reader reviews and adventures.

If you’d like to share your opinions on the scoots you ride, just shoot me a message.

I guess that’s about it.

Again, thank you all for liking this page.

I’ll try to be as active as I can be and provide you with cool and interesting scooter related content.
