BE KIND TO EACH OTHER ON THE ROADS TODAY.
You never know how someone else feels about driving in snow. If someone is going too slow, pass them with a smile. Maybe their car isn’t as capable as yours on icy roads. Maybe they had a horrible accident on ice and now drive slow out of fear. Maybe they are a student driver, or a new mother with her baby in the backseat. You never know why they may need to go slow. Let them.
If someone is going too fast, let them pass. Maybe they’ve got a family member in the hospital who’s hanging on by a thread, and they are desperately trying to get to them. Maybe their car is better than yours in the snow. Even if they are driving dangerously fast, just let them pass. If you try to block them you may get hurt. If you honk, you’ll startle every driver around you.
Please, please, BE KIND TO EACH OTHER TODAY.

This Saturday is the 7th Annual NoCo Secret Samaritan’s Free Toy Store!🎁

🎁🎄 On December 21st from 9am-1pm, The NoCo Secret Samaritan’s Free Toy Store will open once again for the 7th year!
Children will be able to come in and choose a toy, puzzle or game, stocking stuffer, book, and a stuffie for the holidays. There is NO application process or paperwork required. Just bring your child on the 21st to pick out a toy!🧸

This is a Family Fun Event where you will enjoy:

🎅 Free Photos with Mr. & Mrs. Claus
🎶 Live Entertainment
🎁 Pick out gifts for your kiddos
🎀 Gift wrapping station

This is a day of holiday magic you don’t want to miss! 🎄

On December 21st at 8am, the location will be announced on our Facebook and Instagram.

Q. WHO IS THE NOCO SECRET SAMARITAN?
A. What started as one person’s mission to spread kindness covertly has grown into a tribe. We are a small group of friends who just want to make a difference in our community, and when we all work together we can make a BIG difference.

Q. DO I NEED TO SIGN UP OR BRING ANY PAPERWORK WITH ME?
A. NO!! The reason for creating this toy store was to have a space where children of ANY economic class or religion can receive a toy. There are many families that fall through the cracks for different reasons, one of them being that they “don’t meet the requirements” or are “unqualified”. Each child is judged by his or her parent’s income to see if they are deserving of a gift. And we think EVERY child deserves a smile.

Q. DO I HAVE TO BRING MY CHILD(REN)?
A. Yes, this event is FOR them! If you are concerned you won’t have something to put under the tree, fear not! While the children are picking out a toy, enjoying the activities and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, we can have a volunteer help you discreetly pick out a toy while they are distracted.

Q. HOW MANY TOYS PER CHILD?
A. As of now, each child can have one gift, one stuffed animal, one book, one game and one stocking stuffer. Depending on donations, we may increase the amount we can give to each child.

Q. CAN I SHOP ANYTIME BETWEEN 9AM AND 1PM?
A. Yes! We will have lots of awesome toys to choose from, and we will continue to replenish during the event, so come anytime.

Q. WHAT IF I AM NOT ABLE TO MAKE IT DURING THOSE HOURS?
A. Unfortunately, this is the only time that this event will happen this year. If you can send a friend or family member in your place, they are welcome help your child pick out a toy.

Q. WHAT IF I’D LIKE TO HAVE SOME OF THE TOYS WRAPPED?
A. We’ve got you covered! We have a team of professional gift wrappers available to wrap for free!

Q. WHY DON’T YOU ANNOUNCE THE LOCATION UNTIL THE MORNING OF THE EVENT?
A. We do this to avoid having people camping out or forming lines too early. This can create problems for the location. For the safety of everyone involved we announce the secret location that morning.😉

This post perfectly described how I’ve been feeling lately. Sometimes I have periods of depression during the changing seasons, especially fall and winter. Maybe you do too. Just hang in there. The best version of you will be back and better than before.

As the leaves begin their vibrant transformation, I find myself reflecting on the time when they were in full bloom, showcasing the best versions of themselves. With each passing day, their colors shift and deepen, a reminder of the beauty inherent in change. Eventually, the “old them” will gently drift to the ground, embracing the quiet slumber of winter. 🍂 But with the arrival of spring, life breathes anew, and they rise once more, radiant and full of promise.

Life is like this; we too experience seasons that shape us. Right now, I feel as though I'm on the brink of falling—on the cusp of letting go of what was, and facing the uncertainty ahead. Yet, I cling to the hope that, with time, I will bloom again. 🌱

It’s perfectly natural to navigate through periods of imperfection and introspection. These moments of stillness and dormancy allow us to appreciate the warmth and vibrancy of life when it returns. Just like the leaves, we have to trust the process, knowing that each season, even the challenging ones, contributes to our growth and prepares us for the beauty that lies ahead. Embracing this cycle is essential; it reminds us that every fall can lead to a magnificent rise, and every winter holds the promise of renewal.
