Come see 35,000 Watts: the Story of College Radio! This Friday night in Mason Admissions Theater, Centro Building, Bellarmine. The movie starts at 6pm with a Q&A to follow with 35,000 Watts star Jennifer Waits and WXOX Louisville's Sharon Scott. The movie is free and open to the public.

If Bellarmine is a mass of buildings and trees and hills and sculptures to you, then you might not know where the Mason Admissions Theatre is located. We're here to help!

It's in the Centro Building (circled below). That's right off the Centro Atrium. Walk up the steps to that big old tree and walk through the glass doors. We'll take it from there!

Folks, Hear and There is going on summer vacation. I'll be back in August when plenty of new tunes and sonic adventures in mind.

There will be some summer fun, to be sure, but I'm also tackling some day-job duties. So it won't all be like this pic, but posting it might make it more so. Happy Summer!

Bellarmine Radio is off the air today for some major upgrades for the first time in a long time. We're replacing our soundboard and reconfiguring our set-up to make things easier for our hard-working DJs.

We figure you're off at a beach or on a mountain somewhere, but just in case you're not, well thanks for your patience...and pardon our mess.

Catch Hear and There with Kyle every Friday between 11am and 1pm. Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! 🏁

Bellarmine Radio is thrilled to be featured on the Bellarmine Instagram page this week, which has meant curious newcomers and long-time listeners checking in. Hooray! We welcome both, of course. You can tune in to hear it all at bellarmineradio.com.

I'm no Dewey Phillips but I'll be doing my thing at 11am this morning, with music new and tried and true from Public Universal Friend, Bob Dylan, Catherine Irwin and Tara Jane O'Neil, The Soundcarriers, Loretta Lynn, Jessica Pratt, The Allah-Las, Comet Gain, Solomon Burke, White Reaper, Durand Jones and the Indications, the Zero Boys, and more. Melt the guns, etc.

Sometimes Bellarmine Radio gets some assistance from our intrepid media assistants in the Department of Communication office. At present, we're making an inventory of all the gear...including all of the cables. But intrepid media assistant and Comm major Katie knows her XLR cables from her RCA cables and she won't be deterred.

Bellarmine University Radio had a great time at last week's RSO Arts and Crafts Fair, sponsored by Bellarmine Activities Council and our friends in BUKnighted.

Our table was among the busiest, as we offered up some unearthed t-shirts and reproductions of the Grateful Dead at Bellarmine. We also lovingly abused some old 45s in the name of art (forgive us). Oh, and the homemade pins we made were popular too. It was great to be with like-minded clubs building community on campus.

Last Friday, Bellarmine Radio DJs and directors got a tour of WXOX's Old Louisville studios, thanks to WXOX/ArtxFM general manager and community radio advocate Sharon Scott. We oohed and aaahed! And we came away with some dreams and a little swag (thanks, Sharon!), buoyed by both stations' shared mission of building creativity and community.

We here at Bellarmine Radio like a good surprise. We've been listening to Natalie Mering's latest album as Weyes Blood, currently at the top of the college and community radio charts. Then we noticed a message inside the album cover.

It reads "Congratulations, you destroyed something you thought was beautiful and that's just the beginning. Love, NM."

Except we managed to read the message without destroying the album cover and now we feel like we've cheated and should we go ahead and take it apart or leave its beauty intact please advise

Who can leap across musical genres in a single bound? Who can keep you in good sounds from the top of the charts to the little known? You know who. Last night, our directors were hard at work making limited-edition Bellarmine Radio buttons that can be yours today at 11am in Bellarmine Centro, where we'll be signing up new DJs for radio shows. While we're preparing new shows for spring semester and adding new music, we want to take a moment to wish a happy birthday to Emily Carroll (pictured here with a close friend). Emily has been a fierce advocate for Bellarmine Radio since it’s early years and we remain grateful.

These days, Emily is busy in LA and elsewhere, making great film and television for one and all. (Check out her IMDB link below.) Happy Birthday, Emily! Radio on!

We here at Bellarmine Radio are starting to think about January shows. And adding to our playlist! Perhaps it's too on the nose to be interested in Australian post-punk outfit Sacred Hearts and their debut single "Catholic Guilt?"

With a wink from us and best wishes for the year to come. ;)

Bellarmine Radio sometimes gets visitors around the holidays and we're so glad when we do. Recently, former BU Radio station manager Andrew Hampton and Bellarmine Radio DJ alum Mary Wurtz stopped by to say hi and have a look around.

We talked things over and spun some tunes, while Andrew also added some new ones (thanks, Andrew!). Happy Holidays, all!
