It was a pleasure working with ’s The Butterfly Project 🦋

The Butterfly Project is a one-week immersive program for high school students, college students, and their educators. During the program, participants experience and learn how to strengthen the efforts of local non-profits that address social challenges impacting jobs, justice, education, health and housing by leveraging the power of data.

Using real data, participants work with community non-profits to support their efforts addressing systemic inequities that directly impact Louisville residents. Participants learn data analytics skills such as how to collect, interpret, and visualize data, as well as how to identify data gaps and how these gaps affect outcomes.

Don’t focus on your follower count🥴 The number of followers shouldn’t be the goal, engagement should be a top goal of social media marketing.
Focus on the quality of followers you have instead of the quantity. Even if you have only 10 followers, work to nurture the relationship with those 10 followers and watch how they support your brand.

Our business is growing and we are excited and want to make sure that as we grow we can continue to provide outstanding service to our clients. To do this, we are currently looking to add a Social Media Manager that can grow with us.

The primary focus of this position is to ensure all aspects of our clients’ digital strategies are executed in a timely, on-brand, and relevant manner.

Our ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail (can spot a typo a mile away) and knows how to communicate in an organized and efficient way. Discretion and confidentiality are essential for this position.

This is a completely virtual, part-time role and the Social Media Manager will operate as an independent contractor. The time dedicated to this project may include some weekends, and at times, responding to team members outside of traditional work hours.

Duties and Responsibilities

Our Social Media Manager will be responsible for ongoing support of our operations and customers in the following areas:

Oversee Customer Support
Manage content calendars
Oversee social media accounts (monitor comments / reviews)
Prepare client reports for weekly distribution
Review email materials and blog posts
Create / Edit image templates to ensure they meet platform parameters
Posting / Scheduling posts for clients

Skills and Abilities
Technologically savvy
Proficient in major Social Media Platforms (Facebook / Instagram a MUST; LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube a PLUS)
Proficient in software required to use and manage our content calendar (Google Drive, Sheets, etc)
Proficient in software required to edit images (Canva, PhotoShop, PicMonkey)
Resourceful
Can handle tight deadlines
Outstanding communication skills
Organized
Takes ownership and pride in their work
Adapts really well to changes on-the-go
Can handle direct and blunt feedback and course-correct as necessary
Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously -- gets things done, meet deadlines and see projects through to completion
