These are our featured student art submissions that share depictions of the Guardian Angels.

Youth who are high school age and younger are invited to submit original visual art to be featured in the monthly “Saints for Kids” section of Youth Focus. The upcoming deadline to submit is October 3, and the subject of the artwork is St. John Paul II.

Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre has made the following official assignments, effective Oct. 1, 2024.

Other appointments include:
Very Reverend David J. Carr will serve as associate rector of The Shrine of Saint Martin of Tours, coinciding with the termination of his responsibilities at St. Boniface Church.

Rev. Silvio J. Fonseca Martinez will serve as associate pastor of Holy Spirit Church in Jamestown, Ky.; Holy Redeemer Church in Greensburg, Ky.; and Good Shepherd Church in Columbia, Ky. He has also been assigned to providing Spanish-speaking ministries to various churches.

🗓: St. Brigid Church will host a Transitus service Oct. 3. The service will reflect on the 800th anniversary of St. Francis’ reception of the stigmata, the physical wounds of Christ, and will honor his death in 1226.

🗓: St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology is hosting an open house for its graduate theology program Oct. 12-13.

🗓: The Archdiocese of Louisville Ministry Institute will offer a variety of faith formation classes this fall. The next class is Oct. 7 on the topic: “Listen, Say Yes, then Go and Tell.”

St. Albert was named a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School — one of seven Kentucky schools to earn the distinction — on Sept. 23 by the U.S Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona.

St. Albert was the only school in Jefferson County selected for the distinction.

🗓️: Epiphany Church will host a men’s retreat titled, “The Holy Spirit and Discipleship” with Deacon Lucio Caruso on Oct. 12.

🗓️: The Mount St. Francis Center for Spirituality in southern Indiana will offer “The Quest for Holiness,” a men’s fall retreat Oct. 25-27.
