Devan Horton, one of the finalists, created a large batch of botanically-based, plantable art materials. The art was planted to transform an empty lot into a native pollinator meadow.

Like father, like daughter. Nolin Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation foreman Russ Stanger was on hand to support his daughter's high voltage demonstration at the Kentucky State Fair.
Hadley Stanger, a freshman at Meade County High School, is the 2024 KY State 4-H Communications Contest Winner for "Science, Engineering and Technology". This allowed her the opportunity to present her demonstration at the fair.

"Kentucky Remembers: The Vietnam War" is one of the exhibits at the Kentucky State Fair through August 25. This 10,000 square foot exhibit includes a Huey among several vintage military vehicles. We have some exciting news to share! Kentucky Living Magazine is the recipient of the 2023 George W. Haggard Memorial Journalism Award, the NRECA’s top award for electric cooperative publications. Jim Matheson, chief executive officer of NRECA, presented the award to Kentucky Living Editor Shannon Brock at the 2024 NRECA PowerXChange in San Antonio. “Kentucky Living has for many years put a strong emphasis on the principals that the Haggard celebrates: forthrightness, clarity and balance in advancing the objectives of electric co-ops,” Matheson said. The George W. Haggard Memorial Journalism Award is an annual honor presented by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association recognizing an electric cooperative statewide consumer publication that best presents “lucid, forthright contributions to electric cooperative objectives.”
