Cost overruns and delays are starting to creep up with the new Franklin County Public Safety Radio System project. The project schedule is being delayed, completion date is now pushed to July 31, 2025. Additional $698,108.99 to Williams Communications and $88,435 to TUSA is scheduled to be voted on at Monday's Commissioners meeting. The initial RFP response from Motorola (rejected by Commissioners) was more expensive at the time of the RFP but included a plan for site acquisition delays. The additional cost and delay are due to the new location of the Bunn area tower and the recommended modifications to the Coverage Acceptance Test Plan. The shelter is asking for help at this time; they are in desperate need of rescues, fosters, and adopters.
