WHAT INSPIRES ME:

Beauty of the natural world inspires me. I feel like my little corner of the earth has been one to preserve and wait for the right timing to share. There is something magical about how all the parts of nature work together to provide abundance.

WHERE IS MY CURIOSITY TAKING ME:

My curiosity is taking me to a place where I can step outside of my comfort zone ( what the western culture has conditioned me to accept as reality ) and stepping into what my life purpose for being here on earth requires of me. This includes my new relationship with honey bees & permaculture.

It also includes a new way of existing & caring for horses. There is also an existential connection that is happening between science & spirituality, where they have existed separately they are now converging and it is fascinating to see how the parts fit together like a cosmic puzzle.

WHAT INSPIRES ME:

Life itself inspires me. I have had so many extraordinary things happening to me that I cannot see life for anything else than inspiration.

WHERE IS MY CURIOSITY TAKING ME:

My curiosity is steered almost exclusively toward the thought of ‘What else is possible?’.

What else is possible when I face my fears again and again, when I go through resistance again and again and when I let go of control and just let life itself take over.

WHAT INSPIRES ME:

I am inspired by the courage of those that choose to take the road less traveled, genuineness, kindness, and curiosity.

WHERE IS MY CURIOSITY TAKING ME:

My curiosity is taking me to explore new ways to listen to myself that aren’t heavily weighted on the analytical side of my brain. And by listening in that way, my curiosity takes me to how life might flow with more ease and present new experiences that I could never imagine.

WHAT INSPIRES ME:

I’m inspired by connection - the profound connection I feel around horses, among the trees, under the stars, within an act of kindness, in the gift of reciprocity.

WHERE IS MY CURIOSITY TAKING ME:

My curiosity is taking me deeper into myself, where I can turn down the noise in my mind to hear my soul. I’m intensely interested in what happens when individuals, small groups, and communities begin leading with their hearts, living their purpose, and giving their innate gifts.

WHAT INSPIRES ME:
I am inspired by what is currently brought into my awareness.

WHERE IS MY CURIOSITY TAKING ME:
Where doesn't it take me is my question now.

I'm curious about all of life and how we are all interconnected and the idea that I have been separated from the whole due to indoctrination, cultural standards, society, media and the list goes on, has left an opening that is being filled with divine gifts of humanity. I'm reborn!

WHAT INSPIRES ME:
There is nothing that inspires me and gives me such a deep sense of purpose and belonging like when I look up at a beautiful, clear night sky with millions of stars and realise that I am a part of that majesty, or when I look out over a valley and think of the many many many beings going about their way down there or when I see how many tiny little connections there are in the natural world without any input from humans.

When I consciously observe that, when I take a moment to bask in that enormity I am alive, inspired!

WHERE IS MY CURIOSITY TAKING ME:
I want to learn how I can be the best care taker for my animal companions, the wild animals that visit us and the plant biodiversity that surrounds us. I am interested in energy, in synchronicity, in allowing ourselves to be guided by our hearts.

WHAT INSPIRES ME:
Especially while there is so much darkness becoming so visible in this world at this time, I feel boundlessly inspired by the shifts in awareness, by the increasing light as people recognize it doesn’t have to be that way!

We are coming together from our hearts, and the horses, the non-human world are always here to help us open our heart. I just feel so blessed to be here.

WHERE IS MY CURIOSITY TAKING ME:
I am SO curious to watch how social systems change when people refuse to ignore their own heart. From our family dynamics to politics (which is often kind of the same dance!), I will keep sharing and showing up to watch the transformation from judgement to grace.

E20: Lessons on Stewardship

Episode 20 is a very special conversation among the volunteers who have been working behind the scenes for many months to coordinate the Compass Conversations podcast and who are now working to breathe life into the Intuitive Learning Foundation.

The volunteers considered the following paragraphs and seed question, and the rest, as is our custom, was organic:

We are all stewarding each other. We often consider ourselves stewards of nature and animals, but what if animals and nature are also stewarding us to steward each other? Through intuitive connection, shared experiences, and loving interactions, the non-human world selflessly offers unlimited opportunities to feel accepted, seen and loved.

In our relationships with all non-human life, we have the opportunity to experience ourselves without competition and with nothing to prove. We can experience the common ground of life with lives that are very different from our own. What does it take to experience this common ground with other humans, as well?

Our desire to care for others without greed or judgment, and with an open heart, is a reflection of nature’s stewardship of humanity. The beauty of nature can inspire us to remember who we really are - to be unconditionally invited, again and again, to “re-member” humanity in the vast body of life. When humans listen with a willingness to learn and connect through our heart, we are receiving and re-sharing the gifts of unconditional love that our extended family of animals, plants, insects, minerals, sky, and water are eager to show us.

With the above as a setting, the group spent most of the hour considering the following question: How do our experiences with non-human life guide us in stewarding one another as humans?

Our intellect is at the service of our heart. We need the intellect to function because it serves. Language serves. Science serves.

Analysis serves, like all of us are pointing out. But that's my question, and where my heart is taking everything I create is, how do we weave and bring side by side with intellect the value of the way intuition functions?

Because it's almost like two different languages that complement each other like a harmony, like a duet, but they operate differently and they feel different.

Judgment and discernment both involve themes that focus on safety and accountability and integrity. They're actually quite vital in terms of a healthy society.

I find that the action of judging, even when it's internal judgment, is always connected to external projection.

Any kind of judgment, it's an interaction with what's external, outside of us. Whereas discernment activates our internal intuition.

For example, if I'm in a field with a horse and the horse kicks at me, my judgment is that that horse is dangerous. My discernment says, ‘what do I need to do to be safe around this being right now?’

What is my sense of my own being with this being that has this potential to hurt me? That's very different energetically, but that's also a very different frame that we're interacting with.

How does one small group of people make a difference in the way humanity relates to the world?

ILF has a foundational philosophy that, very simply, directs individuals’ awareness toward their own innate wisdom, regardless of how active it seems to be.

Leading by example, our small team collaborates with other like-hearted people and organizations to illuminate the presence of innate technology, intuitive clarity and in-measurable factors that keep life feeling…well…alive.

Through simple pdf resources, online courses and circles of sharing, partnerships and collaborations, we offer opportunities to bring the simplicity of what we all share into the complexity of human society. When humans work with awareness of this innate wisdom, all of life can benefit.

I think a huge amount of our intuition is suppressed because of beliefs. Beliefs, values and principles that we're brought up with, but so much of our beliefs are not ours.

They're injected into us when we were younger. We're given these beliefs by people, obviously parents and other people we are involved with and religion, society, TV, and now, of course, social media. And these beliefs and values then stifle our intuition.

The biggest part is that we are not aware of it at that time, or at that age, to be able to change it.

Some people are lucky or very intuitive and can change it. It took me years and years and years to get to that point where I could finally feel that I could be self authentic and change these beliefs.

I come from a really scientific background. I was a complete skeptic and then my horse took me to a horsemanship clinic 21 years ago.

The clinic was all about energy and I had no idea what was going on, but I was fascinated by it.

And in the years that followed it was shaped into a total fascination to watch for any little sign and be completely open. Is there a hint there? Is there something that resonates with me inside? And I feel it sort of in my heart and solar plexus.

But if I find something that is sort of wham, bam, this is the truth, it's straight down the back of the neck, you know, hackles up like, oh my God, yeah, I found it, this is the next step.

E19 - Intellect and Intuition

A book falls open on a page with a relevant, resonating message - a breadcrumb, perhaps. A heart-shaped leaf lands in your hand on your way into a job interview. You enter a room full of people and immediately feel a brace in your body. Are these signs or coincidences? How do you know?

Today’s conversation explores questions around intuition and intuitive learning. How can you tell the difference between intuition and intellect? How do they work together? How can you learn to feel and trust your intuition? How does your intuition occur to you - what does it feel like?

Many of us are on a journey to recover and remember our intuition - as part of our institutional education, we are taught to suppress those feeling parts of us and to focus on producing, influencing, gaining, creating, selling. Education steers our awareness away from what is felt and toward what can be measured and defined and repeated.

How do we integrate an education of the heart side-by-side with the intellect? We clearly need intellect to function - language serves; science serves; knowledge serves. But how do we weave these complimentary types of knowing together? Integration of our intellect and our intuition brings us into congruence, where we are no longer in conflict with ourselves. The resulting integrity and inner freedom open the doorway to curiosity without judgment and give us the courage to have a different conversation.
