How we got started

Los Banos Today was started in January of 2018 by Dave Hogue. Los Banos Today was created out of the public's need for more news and information delivered to the community faster than it was being delivered at the time.

There are currently three delivery platforms used by Los Banos Today.

1) Website: www.losbanostoday.com where you will find all of our news stories and videos.

2) Facebook: www.facebook.com/losbanostoday where you will find our live interviews with business owners, politicians, organizations and charities.

3) YouTube: search up Los Banos Today to find our videos done in the community on various subjects and topics. Some live content may also live here.

Los Banos Today Live Streams some community events like parades in an effort to bring those events to the residents that are unable to attend the event(s). The live shows or streams can be viewed on our page and they get republished to youtube where they then get streamed to our website.

In July of 2018 we announced a new segment of Los Banos Today to be produced in Spanish. Today we reach thousands of local residents with millions of views to our website monthly.

In February of 2019 Dave Hogue received his Drone Pilots License through the FAA and with that we are now able to film events, and our videos via our Inspire 2 & Inspire 1 drones. We are also now able to film our clients commercials and advertisements with our drones in 4k.

In March of 2019 Los Banos Today was able to purchase a new Canon 80D with a 400mm telephoto lense to better capture still photographs of events and news.

In May of 2019 Los Banos Today purchased our news van and on May 11 we filmed James Savage setting the record for the fastest time swimming across the San Luis Reservoir.

Its not that we don’t have news coverage in Los Banos it’s the sheer lack of local news coverage, unless it’s a story of tragedy or the like. When we say “LOCAL” we don’t mean Fresno or Merced we mean Los Banos!

We created a page and a Facebook group. The group is where residents can go to discuss stories and to share ideas. Our goal is to create a news station that is for the people by the people.
