Public Event: The negotiations on the Cyprus problem

This Friday, December 13th, the Non-Attached Cypriot Member of the European Parliament, Fidias Panayiotou, will host his first live podcast event, open to the public of Cyprus.

The event will feature Andreas Mavrogiannis and Özdil Nami, who for many years served as negotiators for the two sides in the peace talks for the solution of the Cyprus problem. Joining them on stage will be himself Fidias Panayiotou, a Greek-Cypriot, and his Turkish-Cypriot friend and well-known social media figure İbrahim Beycanlı (Urban Cypriot). Together, the two friends will lead the discussion by asking questions to better understand the details of the past, the present, and the future efforts for a solution to the long-lasting problem of their island.

The event will take place in the buffer zone of Nicosia at the bi-communal Home for Cooperation, a place which symbolizes the effort for unity and dialogue between the two communities. It is scheduled for Friday, December 13, 2024, at 7:30 PM.

We warmly invite everyone interested to participate in this dialogue and gain insights into the ongoing efforts for peace.

The discussion will be conducted in English, and for those unable to attend in person, the event will be livestreamed across Fidias Panayiotou’s social media platforms.
