I found out today that a Twitter account with “obsolete units” in the name and a handle nearly identical to my own Twitter (which I haven’t used in years) is posting vile transphobic content. I would hope that anyone that knows me would know that such an account has absolutely nothing to do with me or my label, but just to make things clear, I am absolutely disgusted by this person’s hateful behavior and abhor transphobia/TERF ideology. This seems to just be a really unfortunate coincidence rather than somebody trying to impersonate me, but let it be known, Obsolete Units and myself will always stand against transphobia, homophobia, racism, misogyny, and all other forms of bigotry.

For next week’s Ruinous Resound in San Francisco, there will be a special limited to 50 CDR split between Obsolete Units’ founder Rust Worship () and Nu Sire (). Black CDR with hand-stamped large envelope packaging and a glossy, pro-printed card insert. Two heavy pieces of harsh industrial noise, mastered by Jonathan Borges (). All copies will be hand-numbered and available exclusively at Ruinous Resound. Any remaining copies will be available to buy online after the fest.

Some semi-label related news, Rust Worship will be playing later this month in San Francisco for the Ruinous Resound fest, along with great friends Allegory Chapel Ltd, SOOT, Nu Sire, Andorkappen, and many more. This will be my first public performances since pre-pandemic times, as well as my first time playing live in the Bay Area since 2014. Incredibly excited for this opportunity. Proof of vax/negative COVID test required.

In the last few days, Kim Prince, who owns , met several customers who said they were there specifically to patronize a black-owned business. She said multiple people have tagged her restaurant on Instagram using the hashtag .

On Saturday, a Google spreadsheet full of black-owned in started circulating on Twitter, created by Kat Hong, a 25-year-old editorial assistant for the Infatuation website in L.A. “It came from a place of pure helplessness,” Hong said. “It’s difficult to know how best to support the black community right now.” Link in bio for a list of black-owned restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, food trucks and pop-ups that builds on Hong’s list. 📸:
