By recognizing their full potential, we can harness the power of RMNs to drive awareness, consideration, and ultimately, conversion.

Brands can leverage the buyer data to create personalized messaging for segmented audiences. For example, if you know your audience shops at a particular chain of stores, you could run an exclusive opt-in campaign via QR codes or SMS offers to pull future buyers into your funnel.

From there, you can start retargeting campaigns or omnichannel nurture sequences, all while gaining invaluable insights into who your shoppers are and what they want.

And to maximize your reach, you can build lookalike audiences with RMNs or on other platforms, with the data you collect from your top-of-funnel tactics.

Brand marketers, don't fall into the trap of SHORT-TERMISM:

Short-termism is the marketing fallacy of focusing too heavily on acquiring new customers and activating sales, at the expense of building long-term customer retention and loyalty.

When budgets are tight, many marketers feel the pressure to close the sale and place a disproportionate emphasis on short-term performance metrics -- that's understandable! But be careful not to lose sight of the long-term brand trajectory.

The downside, of course, is that Amazon is a walled garden, so brands will get the scale and reach but not the granular analytics.

Ahh, we're reminiscing about all the rose' and croissants last year... Though we're not attending this year, here are our top 3 tips for all of you at Cannes LIONS 🦁:

📆 Set up a calendar link to schedule 1:1 meetings with people, otherwise, you may never catch them!

🎉 Think outside the conference itself -- many of the meaningful relationships we've formed were at tangential breakfasts, lunches, parties, etc.

👟 ...and wear comfortable shoes!

Big brands like and are pulling back their loyalty programs, even though a study clearly shows they help retain customers over time. What gives?

If you haven't had luck with loyalty programs, the problem may be the nature of your offers. A purely transactional "points for purchase" relationship trains customers for deal-seeking behavior rather than inspiring true brand loyalty. Think longer-term and show the customer you're thinking about their pain points. Loyalty goes both ways!
