The Parabolix 40 is a fantastic light for beauty and fashion. Giving a smooth yet crisp light quality, it’s also large enough for near-full body coverage, as shown in some of the examples here. Notice the highlighting and detail of the skin in some of these beauty shots - very flattering and elegant for the subject. This reflector size is a great choice for smaller studios with 9-ft ceilings, as well as for travel.

Our Omni LED is a true beauty light. Its Omni-directional spread takes full advantage of our parabolic lighting system by filling a reflector evenly, providing the smoothest output possible. This is different than typical flat LED lights, which produce a harder and less flattering light quality. In fact, the Omni is more similar to an HMI lamp in terms of light spread. The Parabolix 30 is fantastic for both bold beauty and strong fashion lighting. Its deep shape gives glowy wrap with specular punch for beauty shots, while providing a very large and even coverage for fashion. When completely focused, the light is very hard and punchy, like a large Fresnel light. When flooded, the light becomes incredibly soft and provides full body coverage. The Parabolix 30 is a true modern classic!

The Parabolix 20” is our secret weapon - it’s small and unassuming, but produces an incredible light similar in quality to a large Fresnel. High contrast but very smooth, it maintains harder shadows and dimensionality when fully focused, ideal for dramatic fashion or beauty shoots. This 20-inch wide reflector gives great specularity and contrast, with even coverage and skin detail. And because it is also nearly 20 inches deep, it provides incredibly smooth falloff and wrap for such a small light. Check out some of these samples shot by our customers. 👍👍

Here are a few sample beauty shots we did using the Parabolix 30, 45, and 55. Generally speaking, as you increase the reflector size, the light gets softer with wider coverage. Of course, you can also change this up by using the Focus Rod in a more spot or flooded position, or by placing the reflector closer or further away from subject. There really are endless light shaping options available when you do this. …And yes, there will be some overlap in light quality between one size and another because of this. All photos shot in-house by your’s truly :)

The Parabolix 65 is our largest reflector size - at nearly 6 ft diameter, it’s excellent for full body or group shots, and produces an incredibly large and even source with great detail and punch. Popular with photographers and videographers who shoot commercial ecomm lookbooks and fashion, or need a combination of both wide full body and closeup/detail shots.

Here are some in-house shots we did while testing out our lights. The first 4 were shot with a single , and the last 3 were shot using a single . These were all done with strobe. I like how the lighting came out in these - it brings out the natural highlighting and gives the skin an elegant glow. What do you think?
