The docudrama written and directed by Marc-Ivan O’Gorman and co-produced by Cleverality Productions will get another airing (number 7!) on Newstalk FM Sunday morning December 22nd.

The BAI-funded, IMRO award-nominated “Who Killed Bill?” examines the life and murder of Irish Hollywood director William Desmond Taylor.

What a treat to attend WGA’s screening of Sean Baker’s Palm D’or winning ‘ANORA’, and to hear from the film’s star Mikey Madison. The film is extraordinary, reminiscent of the best of Beineix and Carax. Madison is excellent in it, and speaks beautifully about her work. A long but perfectly paced movie, with comedy, fear, s*x and hope in equal measure.

Marc-Ivan O’Gorman grew up in Carlow, Ireland, but has resided in Los Angeles since 2000. He is currently developing a three-part art collaboration, ReJoyce, investigating James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake through Performance, Installation and Distributed Ledger Technology. He has also producing a music and video project, supported by The National Centre for Men’s Health, entitled All My Sons.

The event will feature live readings by Sheila McMullin, Dean Robertson, Marc-Ivan O’Gorman, Sarah Nevin and Jenny Minniti Shippey and poetry films by Felispeaks, Dagogo Hart, Kayssie K, Erin Schalk, Stephen Sexton and Dawn Watson.

The Time Before Now is presented by CIACLA - Contemporary Irish Arts Center Los Angeles in partnership with Calypso Editions, Poetry Ireland, Adrian Brinkerhoff Poetry Foundation, MART Gallery & Studios and kindly supported by Government of Ireland Emigrant Support Program and Culture Ireland.

As a culmination of the writing residency in Carlow examining the mechanics of dramatic writing, I set the writers' group an assignment to write a one-minute monologue for radio.
