As always, we were fortunate to have some amazing guests join us this year on The Imprint Weekly Podcast.
If you enjoy this podcast, or the great work our reporters do at The Imprint and Fostering Families Today, and the work that our Youth Voices Rising team does, please consider making a donation!
Fostering Media Connections is very lucky to have some terrific philanthropic supporters, advertisers and sponsors, and subscribers to our business and policy section that help make this organization go. But we really cannot do it without donors like you who read our stuff, listen to our podcasts and attend our online events.
There are tons of really great nonprofit, independent news outlets to support out there, and we hope you consider us one of them. To give today is easy! Visit https://bit.ly/donate-FMC
In May, The Imprint published Where Kin Come First, written by freelance journalist Steven Yoder. This two-part series documented which New York counties were most likely to place children with relatives.
The county-by-county analysis revealed shortcomings, as well as promising practices in kinship care that are being deployed in the Empire State.
You won't find this kind of data-driven child welfare reporting anywhere else. You can support The Imprint today with a donation that means twice as much, because from now through the end of the year, all donations made to The Imprint will be doubled!

Every day, our nonprofit newsroom seeks to inform readers about issues in the child welfare and youth justice systems and to hold the powerful accountable. This work is not possible without the support of community members like you.
From now until Dec. 31, we have an opportunity to boost the impact of donations to FMC, which will help power our newsroom into 2025. Here’s how it works:
Our Circle of Supporters will match your donation up to $20,000. That means that, with your support, we can earn up to $40,000 through the end of the year.
If you believe in the work we’re doing, will you give today to double the impact of your donation?

This national foster care month, we invite you to join us in lifting up the voices of those who have lived experience in child welfare and youth justice systems.
A great way to do this is by listening to what they have to say! Fostering Media Connections' Youth Voices Rising program trains young people who have experienced foster care, juvenile justice, homelessness or all three how to produce impactful journalism that can change the systems that held — and in many cases still hold — inordinate power over their lives.
You can find Youth Voices Rising pieces on The Imprint and in many Fostering Families Today issues. Check them out now!
This year, FMC launched SafeCamp Audio, a podcast network for shows about child welfare, youth justice and other critical issues.
In addition to being a reliable source for news, opinions and guidance on these topics, we have now created a hub for important conversations and storytelling in the podcast space.
Will you invest in our efforts to grow this platform?
