Hey Audio Labs fans.. It's been a crazy busy year but after much procrastination we've fully rebuilt my site and also that of The Audio Labs recording studio. There's tons of new pictures, current project info and lot's of over detailed gear & instrument lists for all my fellow audio addicts. If you've ever wanted to know what we do here or find out the many clients we've worked with, please take a look and hopefully it's fun and informative. I want to thank the hundreds of artists and clients who trust me with their creative work and allow me to continue to do what I love every day. It's all I've ever wanted to do and without them this site would be a whole lot less joyous! XO

I also want to thank Molly Hale for all her amazing efforts creatively elevating my site into something I love and the ridiculously cool Ed Stasium for pointing me in her direction. She was so fantastic to work with and reasonably priced so if you're in need of a web site, get her while you can!

Some of my favorite capsules back in the house after some much needed spa time. Over 60 years old and still crushing about everything else. About as cool and inventive as a mic gets imho.

Last year I was working and recording with Steve Jordan during the production of The Reverend Shawn Amos’s record and thought that the idea of his well known 17” crash hi hats might be overkill. But later during mixdown I realized that the hats always fell more into the sound of the kit and I had less clean up work to do than usual. First off, yes… that boy can play his ass some drums but he’s also awfully clever. So after some heavy discussions and searching I’ve taken possession of some early etched 17” Paiste trad hats and although I’m still working on the learning curve, I gotta say.. I like big hats and I can not lie! So many subtle variances in stick articulation and overtones with the added area. Never stop learning and listen to the guys who now!

It’s always fantastic to have my old roomie Pete back at the studio laying down some amazingly soulful sounds. Not only can he play his butt off but his ideas are crazy tasteful.

I want to thank the amazing folks at the Craviotto custom shop and especially Johnny C for personally putting this insane snare together for us. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is just beyond expectation and the time spent discussing tone, edges and wood with JC and Nathaniel, really meant a lot. Thanks also to Lyle for the push and all his kind help. Class acts all around.
