Back to work today, forgot my pass so locked bike outside Cannon Street station. Left work at 6pm to find just the cut lock and no bike, resigned to never seeing my trusty stead again asked the station if they have cameras. A guy appeared waving at me, asked me to put the code into my cut lock. He replied ‘I have your bike’ with a smile I will never forget!! His name is Abdul Muneeb and he works for South Eastern Railways, he was on a break and saw a guy bolt cut the lock and challenged him to give it back, he then took it inside and waited 4 hours after his shift finished to personally make sure I got my bike back. The world needs more Abdul’s, he is a legend of a man and a credit to his employer.♥️♥️♥️

"This is not just any man sleeping in his car, this is a Border Patrol Agent who in his days off headed to Houston and helped as many people as he could to evacuate with his own boat, taking additional days off from his vacation time to keep helping, staying up until 3:30am at times, with barely eating any food throughout the day, sleeping very little in 4 days, risking his life trying to save those people in need and not only people but 4 legged furry animals as well, and yet making it back home from Houston at 9:30pm and having to go to work at 10pm with very little sleep. This is love for his country...love to our American people, this is the commitment he signed up for. This is my best friend, my hero."

Well R***r saved me a hospital trip maybe even my life. He has never bitten me beside playing but today while walking the lake as we always do he became pretty aggressive nipping at me then wrapped my leg and his dew claws really dig in I turned to scold him and he ran around me like trying to avoid me.
I turned to grab him and found him confronting a copperhead backed against a log, fighting to protect me until I fetched a stick to assist. Tears nearly filled my eyes as I realized he risked his life to save me. I sat down with him, embracing him tightly. Without a doubt, he's my guardian. The title of the best dog ever unquestionably belongs to him. Rather have this cut that the bite from that copperhead any day.
Thankful for my best friend.

My heart...there was a mother and her 2 young girls in front of me on the plane and the baby suddenly had a very loud crying fit that wouldn't stop. This Southwest employee asked the mother to come to the back of the plane with him. I looked back and saw him blowing bubbles for the little girl until she stopped crying as he was also giving tissues to the mother and consoling her as she was crying too. There are some seriously kind people in this world. ❤️

"This little guy was found and taken to the Burlington County Animal Shelter, where he received treatment for a little cut on his head and a nice meal. And now, he has a new home with one of the officers who rescued him.
Officer O’Hanlon adopted him right away and has been making sure he gets lots of attention and treats! Little Thor is healing up nicely and has found his forever loving home!"

“ A teacher gave a balloon to every student, who had to inflate it, write their name on it and throw it in the hallway. The teacher then mixed all the balloons. The students were then given 5 minutes to find their own balloon. Despite a hectic search, no one found their balloon. At that point, the teacher told the students to take the first balloon that they found and hand it to the person whose name was written on it. Within 5 minutes, everyone had their own balloon.
The teacher said to the students: "These balloons are like happiness. We will never find it if everyone is looking for their own. But if we care about other people's happiness, we'll find ours too."

12/22/2024

On the side of a bustling highway, Maria stood proudly beside her van, her heart full of purpose and determination. Every morning, she loaded her vehicle with fresh fruits, bottled water, and other essentials. Her mission was simple yet profound: to provide much-needed aid to those traveling along this busy route.
Maria's journey began years ago when she herself had been stranded on this very highway. It was a scorching summer day, and her car had broken down miles from the nearest town. Exhausted and thirsty, she had felt a sense of helplessness creeping in. Then, out of nowhere, a kind stranger had appeared, offering her water and assistance. That act of kindness had stayed with her, planting a seed of gratitude and inspiration.
Now, Maria was paying it forward. Every day, she set up her stand by the roadside, offering free supplies to weary travelers. Her small act of kindness made a world of difference to those she encountered. Truck drivers, road trippers, and even the occasional cyclist would stop by, their faces lighting up with relief and gratitude.
Maria's reputation grew, and soon she became a beacon of hope for many. Her generosity was not limited to just food and water. She listened to people's stories, offered words of encouragement, and sometimes even provided a helping hand with minor car troubles. Her tattoos, which often caught the eyes of passersby, were symbols of her own journey and the strength she had gained along the way.
One day, a young couple with a baby stopped by her stand. They had run out of supplies and were anxious about continuing their journey. Maria welcomed them warmly, providing them with water, bananas, and apples. She could see the stress melt away from their faces as they thanked her profusely.
As the sun began to set, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, Maria packed up her van, feeling a deep sense of fulfillment. She knew that her small stand on the side of the highway was making a big impact. It was a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness could ripple out, touching lives in ways one could never imagine.
Maria's story was a testament to the power of generosity and human connection. Through her daily efforts, she proved that no matter how busy or chaotic life could get, there was always room for compassion. And in doing so, she inspired countless others to find their own ways to give back, creating a chain of kindness that stretched far beyond the highway.

Cashiers can sometimes have a very tedious job… standing on their feet all day, dealing with grumpy, impatient customers. It doesn’t often come with a lot of perks. But sometimes, a cashier can bring a good feeling to anyone.
In Glasgow, Scotland, Lauren Walker was doing some grocery shopping at the M&S store with her small son, Alistair. But after a while, as many young children seem to do, the little boy started getting fussy. Not the best of things while you’re in a grocery store… or anywhere, for that matter.
And now, Lauren was in the checkout line at the register, and little Alistair was throwing a fit. But the cashier, Mubarak Ahmad, had an idea. He asked the young mother to hand over the child to him while he scanned her groceries. So she did.
And, for whatever reason, that little boy started settling down, and he even became interested in Mubarak scanning those groceries, and especially that beeping sound those items made when they were scanned.
Says Lauren: “Thanks to Mubarak, he really made my shopping experience much more enjoyable. It really just seemed second nature to him to help out in this way.”

“While on patrol around 3:52 pm. Myself and officer Cole #81 came across an elderly female on all four crawling in the grass. I immediately notified communications of our location and stepped out to check on her. As I approached, I introduced myself and officer Cole.
She told me that she was okay, that she have serious back problems that’s prevent her from holding a rake; so she crawls through out the yard and raking the grass with her hands. Hearing this blow me away as I noticed she has already got the biggest part of the yard done on her hands and knees. As tears formed in my eyes, I pick up her up slowly and asked “ Are you okay and how old are you?” She replied with a soft tone voice. ( being out of breath) I’m okay and there was a job that needed to be done. I’M 96 Years OLD.
We found her walker clear across the yard where she started. Her hands were red, covered with dirt and both knees socking wet.
I notified communications to get EMS in route to my location. I put her safety back in her walker and kneeled down and asks. Do you have rake? She replied “ I have two”. I replied back. Just enough. Myself and Officer Cole will finish the job ma’am. Please rest here while we finish raking your yard.
EMS arrived, a patient assessment was completed. We finished the yard work and before we left, she gifted us with a hug.
The mental willpower and strength she displayed is unbelievable. Being at the age of 96 years old and willingness to over look her physical disabilities to see the job through with her bare hands and knees. Is encouraging on a different kind of emotional spiritual level…! “

This is Jacob. He's seven. And now the owner of this piano after I heard him trying to play Chopsticks on it at the thrift store today. I told him, with practice, he could be the next Elton John or Billy Joel. His face lt up as he said, "thank you but I don't have a piano or way to practice. " So I told him I would buy this one for him if he could talk his parents into finding room for it and picking it up. I checked the sound board and all the keys were there and working fine. So how could we go wrong for $14.99 less my 30% senior discount? I handed him the receipt as I hurriedly left the storebefore being arrested for making his day but ruining his parents'. . Hope he succeeds and betting $10.50 that he does.

Beautiful ❤️
This teenager was filling up his Mustang when the older gentleman pulled up with his can for the mower and was patiently waiting. The teenager noticed, pulled the nozzle out and said "Sir will you please let me see your can?" He filled it up as the older gentleman objected. When the kid finished, he put the nozzle back into his car to finish filling up his own. He refused to take money from the gentleman and wished him a wonderful day. They are all over this country and they come in many shapes and colors. Teach your children to be like this. It all starts at home with the parents. Be a parent, not a buddy.

Kris Scharoun-DeForge and Paul DeForge, a couple with Down syndrome who celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on August 13, 2018.
Kris met Paul at a dance in 1988 and she knew she had found the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. According to Today, Kris remembered that moment and said, “I looked into Paul’s eyes and saw my future.” After dating for five years, they decided to get married. “I proposed to him. I whispered in his ear, “Would you marry me?” And he looked up at me with this big beautiful smile and he shook his head “Yes!” And that’s when I knew. He got me laughing, he was the one for me,” said Kris to CBS.
Paul passed away from complications of dementia at the age of 56 less than a year after their 25th anniversary. Even during Paul’s last moments, as his memory faded, his face would brighten up when he saw his wife and her overall presence would calm him.

"I started dating my (now) husband Kevin in November of 2015. We had one date and the next day, we both knew our lives were going to change. He lived in Texas and my daughter Madeleine and I lived in Michigan. We continued to date long distance for the next 6 months. We wrote each other letters, facetimed every night and hopped on a plane once a month to keep our relationship strong. He would ask to talk to Madeleine, send her little gifts in the mail and tried his best to get to know her at a long distance level. Kevin moved to Michigan the following spring to live with Madeleine and I. He overnight went from a bachelor to a "daddy." He had teddy bear tea parties, learned to read books in different character voices and I caught the two of them eating whipped cream right out of the can one day. He went to every swim practice, girl scout troop meeting, soccer game and dance recital. He taught her to swim, listens to her sing and has played every board game we own at least 10 times. He also endured 5 days at Walt Disney World, the movie Frozen on repeat for months and rescued 2 kittens for her that she named Mac and Cheese. He drove her to Kindergarten every morning and told her every night that he loved her more now than yesterday, but that he would love her even more tomorrow.
When he proposed in Boston at the Public Garden, he made sure to ask Madeleine what she thought and ask if he could forever be her 'daddy.' He did this on one knee...just like he did for me. From this day forward, Madeleine started telling friends, family and her teachers about 'her wedding.' About how she was going to be a flower girl and it was going to be the 'best day ever!'
On our wedding day, we did a "first look" with Madeleine prior to the ceremony. At the ceremony, Kevin got down on one knee (after his vows to me) and said his vows to Madeleine. He told her that he would love her for the rest of his life, that she was just as beautiful as her mommy and that he was going to be the best dad to her that he could possibly be. He also presented her with a necklace that said 'I may not have given you life but life has given me you.' I have never seen her cry like that; perfect little tears of joy that showed just how much she truly loves her daddy. Those tears meant her world was now complete and that it's never too late for the happily ever after we both deserved. Not only did Madeleine cry but we all cried. Her pure tears of happiness created a ripple affect on the entire 101 friends and family we were surrounded by. It truly was 'our best day ever.' "

12/22/2024

"So I had a very interesting “educational” conversation with a woman and her daughter today. As I entered the store before I got home, a little girl kept staring at me. Which is fine. I know that kids are curious when they see someone, especially as dirty as I was. They ended up in front of me as I was checking out. Little girl still staring, her mother told her to stop staring. As they finished and headed towards the door, I hear her mom say quietly to the little girl “that is why you need to stay in school”. I figured this was a great time to educate this mother and her 7/8 year old daughter. The following is our conversation:
First, I happen to be a very educated dirty man. I not only have a high school diploma, I also have a college degree and many medical certifications. So assuming that I am uneducated because of my appearance is actually quite ignorant in itself.
Secondly, if you are telling your daughter to stay in school because I have tattoos up and down my arms, that will actually suppress her creativity and potentially hinder her imagination as she develops. Again, contradictory to your point ma’am. I am proud of my tattoos and artwork that Forrest Bateman put on my body. It’s a representation of my pride in my country and my service over multiple combat tours as a special operations medic.
Third, if you’re referring that statement to the hat (not featured) I’m wearing because it features an elk, you might not understand it. I happen to co-own Evergreen State Outdoors and am proud to own an outdoors company and support my rights to hunt and responsibly be a gun owner.
Finally, I chose to work in a construction industry. I am proud to say that I am apart of building America and I enjoy my job everyday. I tried working a desk job when I got out of the service and it wasn’t for me. I enjoy working with my hands and being outdoors. Subsequently, it comes with being dirty some days. I make good money, have benefits, and am able to provide for my family without issue. So my appearance reflects nothing to do with my level of intelligence or pursuing a higher level of education.
I left the the two with a simple final statement of “have a good day and try not to judge people before you know anything about them. Good luck with her little girl”
Today’s lesson for the day:
1- don’t judge people at first glance.
2-do what you love and enjoy and it’s never work.
3-blue collar jobs are the best jobs. They can pay great and it doesn’t always come with a price tag.
4-education is important, but college doesn’t guarantee you anything.
5- experience, hard work, and dedication allow you to be successful in your career path.
6-don’t be an as***le parent who raises their kids to be an as***le.
7- when attempting to insult someone’s intelligence and education level, don’t allow yourself to be out educated by said dirty man.
8- I need a shower."
